This portable is indeed heavy, the edges are sharp and the board material is particle board...cheap quality and cheaply made. The actual touch and feel of the product is completely different from what you may perceive from the advertised photo images.

The product was poorly manufactured and lack of quality control, likely massive production. The corners and edges can really cut you if not careful. When I removed the product from its packaging this morning, veneer on one of the corners does not stick to the edge of the board, there are also quite a few permanent marks on the metal support for laptops. Meanwhile, I cannot see any obvious damage to the packaging box that would have caused the defects I have just mentioned. So defects or damages were not due to transit.

In summary, the table is too high that you cannot adjust, it is too heavy, quality is poor with sharp corners and edges...at the end, I did not pay $10 like some of the other buyers, I paid a lot more and I do not expect this type of product quality! I'm very disappointed.

This table is quite exceptional. It is well built, so simple to setup and is super convenient. I've actually bought a few more to use for non-laptop related purposes like having an extra tier of space on my garage work bench for tools and stuff (and is still convenient for putting your laptop up there while you are working on something to watch videos or read manuals etc). The quality of the wood also really impressed me - it is something I would have paid a lot more for. No regrets. I recommend buying several as you will find you will put them in multiple places around the house like I have.

I needed something for when I decided to work on the floor, couch or bed, and this was a deal I ran across on Black Friday. My couch is not super deep (seat cushion ~70cm wide), but with the 105º legs, it takes the 65cm length beyond the width of the couch cushion if I am sitting against the arm. So, I can only use it sitting normal on the couch, taking care to keep the long legs away from the cushion edges. For the simplicity of the raising mechanism, it is pretty study. I have found that I can even get it to slightly higher than 45º, by turning the metal piece backwards and having it jam against the front base section. And this is as sturdy as any of the other positions. I use that one for reading more than anything else. It is fairly light and easy to carry. My only real complaint is that there is no kind of latching for the table to remain flat. So, if someone grabs the table wrong and picks it up, the top flails open. I fear that this will lead to damaging a wall and/or the table itself. I am trying to devise a latch I can print on my 3D printer to alleviate this issue. But, I would be fearful to even store this piece around small children, due to the unstable nature when closed and the way the table can flail open and closed.

I got this during one of Amazon's sale and I use it all the time, especially when working from home. It's great to use on the couch to work in front of the TV, or to eat dinner in front of the TV. I've also used it as a make shift standing desk (with some boxes underneath) so I've found it to be very versatile. It's sturdy and adjustable. It also folds fairly flat which means I can store it underneath the couch when I'm not using it.

Too heavy and too high for a laptop table

As I work many hours on my computer, I really needed a laptop table that could accomodate a mouse, especially while sitting on the couch or in bed. I saw this table for $9.99 and went for it. I like the size and that it's sturdy, and has an adjustable angle. However, the table sits way too high and the leg height is not adjustable. Therefore my wrists are higher up than my elbows and become sore very quickly. Would definitely not pass OH&S. As per other reviews, the table is incredibly heavy for it's size. This defeats the purpose of a portable table. Bamboo would've made more sense instead of MDF wood. I've used It a handful of times, and it's been gathering dust ever since.

my 17" laptop does not exactly fit ( has two inches jutting out) but doesn't mean it is not usable, its still somewhat sturdy thanks to the solid and pretty heavy construction of the desk. I like the ease of using the ramp and not having to assemble anything.

Overall, there isn't many products like this that cater to massive 17" laptops so I would recommend it.

This stand is lightweight but doesn't feel especially flimsy for it. For $27, you're obviously not buying a piece of solid timber, but the look and feel is pretty nice. The stopper bar sits about flush with the average laptop and feels firmly attached, and there's no shakiness when you're at a high angle like with some other stands. There's only one minor flaw I'd note: there's no mechanism to lock the legs into position, meaning it's possible to accidentally nudge them out of position. They are fairly firm though so it doesn't happen too easily.

I doubt you'll find any better in the price range, and I'm happy with it.
