Polly's War Book 2Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 May 2015
Polly's War Book 2 continues to encourage you to read on, and describes how Polly fights her way through adversity throughout her life. On occasions I got a little frustrated with Lucy who dithered too long to make a decision about her future. I have two slight negative points to make about this book. For some reason I found the author repeating previous events that had taken place within the book (on one occasion three times) not sure why she did this but I reckon the book could have been shorter by some way if she hadn't done so. I also felt she rushed the end of the book almost as though she was tired of it, it was a shame because the reader had waited so long for Lucy to make her mind up and we were not able to appreciate the finality if her decision to its full extent. Another chapter at the end telling how the family progressed instead of the repeats mentioned above would have made all the difference hence my three star rating. I do find Freda Lightfoot a good story teller non the less.

Good read. However there's a huge gap of ten years between the first and second book so we don't know what happened to Polly's dad or what happened to the carpet from the cruise liner etc. Needed an in between book. Lots of repition with phrases in this book.
Another brilliant readReviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 June 2016
Another brilliant read by Freda Lightfoot telling the second part of Polly's life, how her children turned out and the hardships she overcame. Hope there will be a third book to tell the reader if she did rise from the ashes.
