I can't wait to read the next book in this series, and would definitely recommend it.
Ok... let’s take a minute to talk (Gush) about/over Mr Matthew Elliott & Mr Kira Takeo Franco a.k.a ‘Frankie’, because let me tell you.. once you meet them, there will be A LOT of gushing !!! Trust me .
Matt is part of the ‘Fab Four’ - a team of 4 detectives that deal with the most notorious Drug-Rings in L.A. They have closed down many but when one closes ... another opens . They are always up against new bad guys to take down. Matt is extremely good at his gob , he’s gorgeous, smart , and he’s also a closeted Gay man . He meets Kira the new boxing coach at his gym and let’s just say sparks fly.
I loved them both equally for different reasons , they both have many things in common but are extremely different too , they balance each other well , have instant chemistry (which is super hot) and had me gushing over them very early on. They were matched perfectly, there was good times and bad times but I loved that, not really into the whole fluffy romance . I love my M/M stories with a fare bit of angst, and N.R definitely delivers here.
I was sitting on the edge of my seat with anticipation , always wondering what was going to happen next , it was such a ride , it was high impact , emotional, suspenseful , at times heartbreaking (which had me gasping at times) , I just loved every second of it .
The MC’s were stunning , the secondary characters were just as amazing . One in particular needs a shout out, and that’s Yumi Takeo Franco (Kira’s mumma) oh my sweet lord that woman stole my heart . She was written perfectly. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book .
This was a easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for me . Well it’s N.R Walker... so it’s to be expected in my book .
I highly recommend reading Point Of No Return . It leaves me wanting more and has me feeling ALL THE FEELS . What more could you want ?
the audio was fine, not the best I've read, as he only really seemed to have a very small selection of voices to pull for, meaning everyone outside the main character sounded like a slight different voice level of the same voice, but I was never confused as to who was talking or what was going on.
Matthew Elliott is a Narcotics Detective in LA and is part of a force called the Fab Four. This is due to their arrest record of drug bad guys. Kira Franco (aka Frankie) is a new trainer at the police gym and when Matt first lays eyes on the beautiful half Japanese half Spanish trainer he is dumbstruck. Only issue is Matt is still very much in the closest and as a cop the last thing he needs is to have his career and reputation ruined by being a gay cop.
The instant chemistry between Matt and Kira is off the charts and soon they become secret lovers. Kira is physically very strong yet has a beautiful gentle soul where Matt is concerned.
When Matt and his team get too close to the resident nasty bad drug boss all four significant others are kidnapped. This was a big surprise to Matt’s team when Kira was kidnapped as well, it certainly blew their cover and made them realise how much danger they were all in.
This story has the right balance of love, lust, sex, suspense and now on to book 2 to continue their story.
I love anything written by this author, her books never disappoint.
Highly recommend 👍

This is a great mix of crime story and m/m romance but what I loved most of all was the chemistry between the two guys. The crime element was exciting but it is the romance that is the star of the show. This was a true love story, the feelings beautifully protrayed and palpable - it made me believe in love at first sight and you really connect with how these two gorgeous men react to each other, the love scenes are sexy and sensual. A truly believable romance.
I agree with the reviewer who said the 'clue ' to cracking the case was obvious, I guessed it early on but it doesn't matter or spoil the story. The ending is perfect and I Loved it! Definite keeper.
The story flowed beautifully and the author had me on the edge of my seat for the most dramatic parts of the story.
I'm a sucker for a good m/m romance and this was perfect. Sweet without being sappy and hot with some lovely sex scenes, but not so many that it detracts from the plot.
My only slight niggle is that I found the 'thing' (no spoilers) that cracked the case a little too obvious. I'd guessed it so early that it wasn't believeable for me that the cops would have missed it - but maybe I've missed my vocation as a crime fighter ;)
But that's a very minor criticism and didn't detract from my enjoyment overall so it still gets 5 stars from me.
I can't wait for more from N.R. Walker!
My only complaint is that it is written in the first person therefore it is difficult to fully portray other characters' thoughts and feelings but that is just a personal opinion and it didn't detract greatly from the storyline.
As mentioned by another reviewer, the "twist in the tale" is a bit obvious although I wasn't really reading it on the basis that it was a mystery/detective storyline.
I am a sucker for romance books and this is a really nice love story.
