Product Description

In Victorian London of 1879, a new device for the treatment of hysteria has just arrived from France. Dr. Julius Christopher plans to use the invention for his own salacious scheme. Can Dr. Nicholas Ramsay prevent his beloved, the innocent debutante Helena Phillips, from being the next patient?

The Doctor and The Debutante
Nicholas Ramsay, renouncing his aristocratic heritage and dark past, has chosen a career as a doctor. He arrives in London ready to embark upon his practice and find a suitable wife.
Helena Phillips, born into scandal and disgrace, is making her London debut. To atone for the circumstances of her birth, she must find a titled husband--no less than an earl will do.

A Dangerous Passion
Nicholas and Helena's chance encounter during the Season leads to a dangerous attraction--and forbidden explorations. A taste of passion leaves Helena longing for more, and her lovesick wretchedness is confused for hysteria, a mysterious ailment afflicting many Victorian women.

A Devious Scheme
Dr. Julius Christopher's new electro-mechanical vibrating machine for the treatment of hysteria is the perfect device to test his radical theory of feminine potency. To fully explore his hypothesis, he requires an innocent and seeks to ensnare Helena for his experiment.

Can He Save Her?
Nicholas is determined to rescue Helena from the clutches of Dr. Christopher. But to prove he is worthy of Helena's hand, Nicholas must reconcile with his past, embrace his future, and show her pleasure is more profound when coupled with love.

The Pleasure Device was previously published in 2013. It has been reedited with minor revisions and has a new cover.

The Harwell Heirs
Victorian aristocracy has very strict rules concerning marital connections and familial obligations. But the Harwell heirs--Helena, Sophia, and Arthur--discover love doesn't always follow the rules. Scandalous affairs force these scions of society to choose between duty and desire, deference and destiny.

3.0 out of 5 stars Erotic but that's all 5 March 2016

This novel is mostly erotica. While I don't have a problem with that, I did have some issues with the story itself. My main issue was with the morality of the characters....all of them. While sometimes you have a few immoral characters in a novel, in this one, they were all committing questionable acts. I tend to like my heroes and heroines to be people with honor. This lack of ethical behavior was disturbing in it's flippancy. I just started not really caring what happened to all of them. By the end of the book, I was glad it was over. But I do have to say that the sex scenes and erotic content was sizzling. I just wish there were redeeming characters to go along with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It was fantastic, fitting for the period 8 April 2016
By Dawn Yacovetta - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I just finished The Pleasure Device. It was fantastic, fitting for the period. I love all of the behind the scenes erotica. I've read other novels that show this part of high society in the Romantic Era, and I've always thought that it made the characters seem more human. Most of the upper class men did have mistresses and many of the women had affairs too. It was expected. The fact that young Helena wasn't surprised by Nicholas having one, and in fact approving of the situation, was a novelty. But her parents were obviously quite open sexually too.

The electricity between Helena and Nicholas, every time they had a little Tête–à–tête during the season, was palpable. It was sweet to watch them fall in love with each other and fight their extreme attraction, making it difficult to see them thwarted at every turn. Julius Christopher was as wicked and deviant as they come, the epitome of evil. Once he had his little pleasure machine, his exploits made for some interesting interaction. One of my favorite characters was the unassuming Grace who almost stole the show toward the end.

I truly enjoyed it from beginning to end, finding it almost impossible to put down. Ms Kammer definitely has a flair for the erotic and her education proves that she can write in whatever period she chooses. It was exciting and fluid, and all of the characters' exploits had me feel a bit voyeuristic. I am looking forward to reading many more of her books.
