I have to say I really loved this story because it wasn’t a typical girl wanting to settle down and have 2.5 kids in home with a white picket fence. Jade is a free single woman unashamed of having an active sex life. She loves her life but isn’t 100% content, she just knows she has no desire to settle down. Dean is a younger man that is beyond fine so of course she’s down to hit the sheets and let the chemistry between them explode. Unfortunately when a blast from Jade’s past blows in, she wants to convince him she’s not the same woman that he left. With Dean’s help as her fake boyfriend, she’s hoping to concise her old flame she’s ready to settle down into a boring predictable life. Who is Dean to turn down a sexy woman who is offering him hot sex? Dean’s goal is to convince her she doesn’t need to change a thing about herself. Dean feels Jade can have hot sex over the stale/predictable life she’s trying to convince herself she wants. I really loved this story because it was steamy and completely captivating from the very beginning. Definitely consistently written story so I never felt bored or forced while reading. I would give this novel 5 stars.

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  Romance,
I really wanted to like this book, I’d loved the first in the series, somehow missed book two and was hoping this would be as good (for me) as book one. Well, it was an OK read, just didn’t have that magic spark though that the first story had.

Jade, I just couldn’t reconcile her as she is to the person she needed to be for Isak. She’s so full of fun, full of life and takes every minute as it comes – a real grab life by the balls and run with it woman. So why on earth did she think she’d work in a relationship with Isak, who wanted a quiet and sedate wife, someone happy to be a mum and let him have all the limelight. I couldn’t see why they’d ever got together before, and why she wanted to connect again with him. I know her friends are all getting in relationships, becoming settled but kids hadn’t ever been on her horizon so why now?
Dean...mmmnn...what a real man he was. Older than his years mentally he was perfect for Jade, but she just couldn’t seem to see it. The sensuality between them is off the charts – did she really want to give that up for a life of sedate, missionary sex with Isak? He sounded like the kind of man who details sex in his diary along with other dates and spontaneous sex just doesn’t happen. Sun 2pm – golf , Tues 7pm- squash ,  Thursday 12pm- lunch with university colleagues, Sat 10pm Sex....Dullsville all the way and not Jade at all.
I loved Jade and Dean together, loved the way he let her be herself and she let him be Dean, not his actor persona he has to show everyone else. Then of course all gets turned on its head when both have a change of plan and rethink.

I loved the heat in this, adored Dean but Jade – well, for an intelligent woman who’d worked so hard to make her profession a success I found it difficult to believe she’d willingly give it all up for Isak. There’s no chemistry between them, nothing, they’ve not met for two years and yet she wants to abandon her life, move to another country to be with him? Just didn’t feel right or believable for me and that's where the story let down as its a huge part of the plot. :-(

Stars: Three, an ok read.

2.0 out of 5 stars This is a smexy, kinky fantasy story with some well-described scenes that are almost off-the-charts heat-wise. 10 June 2016

To be perfectly honest, this book wasn't exactly my cup of tea. It's got a good amount of kink and fantasy, along the lines of 50 Shades. That said, I would still recommend this to someone who enjoys contemporary romances that involve role-playing, use of restraints and spanking with paddles, and anal sex. The smexy scenes start almost at the beginning of this (at approximately 8%) and ramp up from there.

Sex is a very big part of this story, but there are also some interesting plot twists if you are willing to suspend your disbelief and immerse yourself completely in the fantasy. The descriptions of everything and the dialogue are well-written, and the setting is well-chosen.

I didn't necessarily care much for Jade, the heroine in this, though. She feels like someone who is a lot younger than she is, and I had a hard time understanding why exactly she would consider Isak at all, or why she dated him for 3 months prior (the longest she had dated anyone) when the "sex was unremarkable" and they "got along fine." She is meant to be a strong and independent woman, but I didn't get that sense throughout. If she had been early 20s instead, it might have been more believable.

There also wasn't necessarily a lot of romance involved in this, in the sweet sense, as the focus between Dean and Jade seems predominantly to be on how much sexual chemistry they have and how much Dean loves that Jade is "open to anything." There is an InstaLove factor, mostly one-sided, where Dean immediately feels that he needs to "play the perfect boyfriend" in order to win Jade away from Isak immediately after his one-night stand with her that some may feel fits the bill though.

All in all, I would say that this is a smexy, kinky fantasy story with some well-described scenes that are almost off-the-charts heat-wise.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fall hard and fast for this duo. 6 June 2016

Julie Particka is back with her latest Gone Hollywood novel and yes it’s finally Jade’s story and the wait for it was so worth it. This book was so much fun to read. Not to mention hot. I’m talking really hot.

What happens when a fake relationship turns into something unexpected? Well that’s the dilemma that faces Jade. She only ever wanted to make her ex jealous, but somehow ends up in a relationship with hot Hollywood newcomer Dean. It’s a hardship right? Well kind of.

I loved this couple, from their first flirty encounter to their HEA, you never quite knew what they would be up to next. Dean and Jade are not your conventional couple and that suits them perfectly. To have it any other way would be an injustice to both of them. Jade and Dean just fit, despite the reasons that bring them together.

For two people against relationships, they manage to fall into one quite comfortably, but when real feelings start to come into the fake relationship things go from easy to complicated. Can they find their way to a movie style HEA or will their time together crash and burn?

I loved that the author didn’t go the normal route to this couples happy ending. Jade would never accept that and to throw Dean at her was perfect. Yes this pairing was unconventional and outside the norm, but I couldn’t imagine it being any other way. Jade is a unique character and she deserved her own unique love story which she not only got but she also got the delicious Dean who could not be any more swoon worthy if he tried.

I may not be doing the best job at selling this book to you dear reader, I know. But it’s hard to sum Jade and Dean up with some pretty words. They are just a couple who are perfect for each other even when they are both trying so hard to be the right person for the other and stuffing it up. Like I said they just fit. Plus they have unbelievable chemistry that will heat up your e-reader. Hot, hot hot!!

This book is the reason I never pass an opportunity to read a book by this author. I loved it and hope you do too.

Jade is the kind of girl who doesn't want a serious relationship. She just wants to have fun, is totally okay with casual sex and has had plenty of one night stands to prove it. Isak is the only guy who lasted for a few months and he is back in town.

Dean didn't expect to have more than one night with Jade but when Isak comes back to town, Jade decides the best way to handle the situation is to show up on the arm of someone sexy and younger. She didn't count on Dean trying to convince her to be with him.

Playing the Perfect Boyfriend is a fun read. I was a little confused at first because I thought Isak was going to have a bigger role than he did. I liked the chemistry between Jade and Dean. The story was slightly predictable but it was still good.
