Busy casual gamer here.
I upgraded from my PS4 (which I was very happy with) for the 4K gaming. I’m not a huge gamer, but I love high res.
I have a powerful PC, but I appreciate purpose-built things; I like it when something does one thing and does that thing extremely well.
Friends with a PS5 and Series X said that despite the Series X being more powerful, the PS5 controller was the game changer and the most truly next-gen aspect of the consoles.
The controller is just sublime. The novelty of the haptics hasn’t worn off. Don’t get hand cramps like I occasionally did with the PS4 controller.
The graphics of PS4 games played on the PS5 are noticeably better. Load times for PS4 games is next to nothing.
Load times for PS5 games are very fast. Demons Souls remastered looks just amazing. The Witcher 3 PS5 update makes great use of the haptics and the updated graphics are beautiful (and it’s free!). God of War 2018 looks stunning and loads very fast.
The home menu is premium and very user-friendly, akin to Apple’s famous easy and pleasing to use operating systems.
I maybe get max 1 hour a day to game. Was it worth dropping $888 for so little gaming?
Absolutely. If you can afford it, why not game in luxury?
