5.0 out of 5 stars A great story and one I will absolutely revisit, highly recommended! 19 May 2017

Once again the author dropped me into a story filled with wonderful people, laughter, tragedy, mystery, adventure and lots of love. I was completely absorbed from start to finish and a little sad when it was time to say goodbye. While I loved Dale and Al and became completely immersed in their journey, I also maintain that Max Vos has the gift of creating delightful supporting characters that I quickly become enamored with ... except for the grandmother and her crony, may they rot. I learned about music and I learned about food as I watched these men discover and support each other through some difficult events. A great story and one I will absolutely revisit, highly recommended!
5.0 out of 5 stars yet another story I love by this author 19 May 2017

Ahhh, yet another story I love by this author, and with my favourite characters in the form of a musician.

In this story we meet Dale, who has just lost everything in a devastating fire. From there, Dale seeks to begin rebuilding his life, and through doing this, he discovers what he is missing when he moves in with Al, a reclusive musical genius with issues of his own.

What I loved most about this story is the building connection between the two men, and the passion I felt to my bones every time Al played and how his music, and his whole outlook changed because of Dale walking into his life. (PS can I please have Dale over to cook my meals? His recipes sound delicious!) I also really enjoyed the side characters of the talented and determined Chrissie and the no-nonsense and feisty Gina, both of whom had Dale and Al's best interests at heart. Oh, and Al's grandmother gives the word evil a real run for its money. Just sayin'.

Wonderful, sweet tale about how by going through one life-altering experience, other, more profound ones will soon follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolutely amazing read 16 May 2017

Dale shows up at his sister's house in a raincoat, boxers, and shoes. This sets up the entire story to include a shark of a lawyer, a dynamo stylist, a no holds barred fashionista, and one poor soul named Al. Al has been so sheltered and strict in upbringing it will take them all to fix the mess. This is not a rock your sheets book but it is sweet and holds your attention from the beginning. I love Max's flow in every book I read, no disappointment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story! 15 May 2017

You know how sometimes you read a story that has musicians or involves singing or playing? You wish there was a small soundtrack within the pages, just so you can Hear the music. Max did a wonderful job using words to describe the emotions and thoughts buried in the music I could almost hear. This was a fantastic story, I have read other Max Vos stories and I truly feel that this one is one of the best. So thank you Max for this.

Dale and Al are unlikely couple but it was love made in music . Al has a evil grandmother and Dale lost everything in a fire . With the help of his little sister Dale gets a much needed make over . Al rents a room to Dale while he gets his business up and running . With the help of Dale and Gia the lawyer , Al is able to get out from under of his thieving grandmother . Must read book .
