The crash of a sightseeing plane kills five. An investigation will explain what happened. Or will it?
The well-heeled owners of the tour company scheme to pin the blame on their two-man maintenance team. But it isn’t that simple. Was the well-connected, rookie pilot with a massive hangover to blame? Was it, in fact, faulty maintenance? Fate?
Tony Valenti is hired to defend the outgunned mechanics in a case where nothing is as it seems. He’s up against a win-at-all-costs legal behemoth with resources that dwarf those of his mom-and-pop law firm. Only facts can save his clients, but Tony’s search for the truth is thwarted at every turn by opponents who will stop at nothing to win.
Tony is already on the ropes when he makes the startling discovery that he has adversaries beyond the courtroom—enemies far more dangerous than a corrupt corporation and its lawyers. Plunged into a moral quagmire in which he’s forced to risk one life to protect another, Tony isn’t only battling to win a lawsuit… he’s also racing to save the most precious people in his life.

About the author

Neil first lost himself in the pages of a book as a five- or six-year-old when Beatrix Potter and Thornton Burgess immersed him in the worlds of Jerry Muskrat, Peter Rabbit, and their furry friends. His parents happily indulged his excitement about being able to read them stories, which he thought was pretty darned cool. He’s been reading and writing one thing or another ever since, but it was many years before the audacious idea of writing a book wormed its way into his head. He’s lived throughout Canada, spent three years in Europe, and lived in Chicago and Arizona, somehow managing to squeeze a career in banking and finance into his travels. After doing an apprenticeship reading, reading, reading, taking courses, attending seminars and conferences, and churning out some truly atrocious manuscripts, he began writing the Tony Valenti thrillers. The series will total four published novels by the end of 2021, plus a free prequel novella for members of my exclusive Reader’s Club. There will be more titles to come in 2022 and beyond, probably at the rate of two or three per year . Stay tuned!
Neil lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Haven’t read this author before but will buy the next one for sure.
Definitely recommended.

Neil has created a memorable character in Tony Valenti, a once successful corporate lawyer whose falling from grace allows him to take on downtrodden clients as a freelance defense attorney. Neil continues to establish fascinating cases for Valenti and introduces the plot idea in the opening: ‘What a perfect morning to fly, Megan Walton thinks as she watches a gas jockey pump fuel into the high-winged Cessna 210N she’ll be piloting on a city sightseeing tour on this, the last morning of her life. The robin’s-egg-blue aircraft, which is emblazoned with the scarlet Windy City Sky Tours logo, glistens in the September sunshine on the tarmac at Chicago Executive Airport.’ In that brief prelude the core of events for the story are succinctly revealed.
The well-crafted story, creating excellent characters to populate this adventure, is summarized as follows: ‘The crash of a sightseeing plane kills five. Plunged into a moral quagmire in which he’s forced to risk one life to protect another, Tony isn’t only battling to win a lawsuit… he’s also racing to save the most precious people in his life.’
Neil’s casual, conversational style of writing underscores the shockers Tony Valenti faces – including a GSW to his ear requiring surgical reconstruction! – and the language and pacing of the story excels in capturing committed attention to the final satisfying page. Neil Turner, in one year, has marked his entry into the genre of fine thrillers. The possibility of cinematic adaptation continues… Highly recommended. Grady Harp, December 21

This was a fantastic legal thriller. The opening had me hooked as it not only showed me the crash but also gave me an understanding of who was on the plane. The twists and turns the narrative took after that, as Tony tried to figure out what was really going on, had me glued to the pages. Fans of thrillers and mysteries will enjoy all that this book has to offer.
