Review

"I've always enjoyed Kathleen's vivid descriptions and page turning romance. No matter the time period or setting, Kathleen works hard to bring the story alive through her characters and passion for God."
-Tracie Peterson, best-selling author of over 100 novels including the Heart of the Frontier and Song of Alaska series

"In a captivating tale of the seas, Y'Barbo gives readers a unique story of history and romance. This is a don't-miss on my list!"
-Jaime Jo Wright, author for Bethany House Publishers

"I love pirate books, and ThePirate Bride is a delightful read that has a totally unique story line. It kept me turning pages as fast as I could read them. I highly recommend this novel for all readers of historical fiction."
-Lena Nelson Dooley, author of A Heart's Gift, winner of the 2017 Faith, Hope, and Love Reader's Choice Award for Long Historicals

" Kathleen Y'Barbo's The Pirate Bride has transported me to a whole new world of magnificent sailing vessels amid privateers and pirates, a beautiful little island inhabited by nuns and orphans, opulent mansions of New Orleans, and newfound love--all through the eyes of the precocious, wise-beyond-her-years Maribel Cordoba. Rich in history, it's a story I didn't want to end and will revisit again soon."
-Julane Hiebert, author of Brides of a Feather series and I Plight Thee My Troth series

"Kathleen's characters come to life on the pages of this book and her high-spirited young heroine will surely capture your heart as she did mine. I highly recommend this novel."
-Annette O'Hare, author of The Bolivar Point Lighthouse series

"A gripping tale of adventure on the high seas, The Pirate Bride will sail straight into your heart. Readers are going to adore this fiery heroine, and the piratical hero's nobility will have you cheering. Couldn't put it down!"
-Roseanna M. White, bestselling author of the Ladies of the Manor series and Shadows Over England series

"The Pirate Bride kept me up late at night turning pages to find out what happens next. To my delight, surprises awaited me at every turn of the plot."
-Louise M. Gouge, award-winning author

"Of all the titles Kathleen Y'Barbo has put out, this is one of my all-time favorites!"
-Michelle Griep, award-winning author of the Once Upon a Dickens Christmas series

"By crafting a setting so vivid that I felt a spray of salt water, Kathleen Y'Barbo brings the 1700s to life. Her realistic characters drew me in, and I found myself engrossed in the world she created. With freshness and surprises around each corner, The Pirate Bride is destined to capture a piece of the reader's heart."
-Kim Vogel Sawyer, award-winning author of Bringing Maggie Home

The Pirate Bride relishes timely encounters and sharp wit. The hand of God remains a steady undercurrent, satisfying the sense that in some cases, romance grows out of a deep, ancient wisdom that neither lover anticipates, but that both come to see as vital.-- (03/01/2018)

In the second book of the Daughters of the Mayflower series, there is adventure on the high seas with pirates and privateers. Characters are charming and sweet, including the pirates. The main character, Maribel Cordoba, is a feisty lass. She is noble but humble, and cares deeply for those less fortunate than herself. The story itself is believable with historical facts mixed in throughout the novel. Kathleen Y'Barbo is a marvelous writer who will entertain fans with The Pirate Bride.

-- (02/01/2018)

A delightful read that enchants, delights and makes you crave adventure.-- (03/15/2018)

Not everyone seeking a new start in life came from England, and Y'Barbo deftly portrays the tensions between France, Spain, and England as descendants of the Mayflower passengers settle the New World. The heroine's age in Part 1 of the story and the sweet romance years later in Part 2 makes this high seas adventure enjoyable for YA or adult readers.-- (04/01/2018)

Excellent story, fast paced, and totally absorbing from page one to the end. I myself pictured the captain as Errol Flynn, who I considered one of the all-time best swashbucklers.--Seattle Book Review

Woodhouse's fun, faith-filled book will please fans of historical romances.-- (08/01/2018)

The Patriot Bride is a wonderful reflection (and account) of the willing and unrequited sacrifices made by our forefathers for the price of freedom.-- (07/03/2018)

A brand new series for fans of all things related to history, romance, adventure, faith, and family trees.

Pasts Collide in New Orleans when a Treasure Goes Missing
The last time New Orleans attorney Jean-Luc Valmont saw Maribel Cordoba, a Spanish nobleman’s daughter, she was an eleven-year-old orphan perched in the riggings of his privateering vessel proving herself as the best lookout on his crew. Until the day his infamy caught up with them all and innocent lives were lost. Unsure why he survived but vowing to make something of the chance he was given, Jean-Luc has buried his past life so deep that no living person will ever find it—until a very much alive and very grown up Maribel Cordoba arrives on his doorstep and threatens all he now holds dear.
