Total cost of this, adapter, and tools was under $100 AUD. Much cheaper than the kits.
I’m very happy with this purchase.
Plugged it in and way to go.

Let's get down to business, this card has 4K physical sectors and 512 Logical sectors due to firmware.
I've looked at the competitor cards (and almost got one) but they were 4k native cards.
4K native cards will not work with many backup softwares, or many computer softwares.
So if you're wondering on what E12 card to get, get this one, it's cheaper and has a custom 512b(e) firmware on it. And it has the same performance as all the rest of the E12 drives, it's a no brainer.

Pioneer at this price, that is an excellent brand at rock bottom prices and all new tech. Left me with a raging boner.
Recommended.

* 2TB in a tiny packages.
* It is quite fast.
* According to various tests with a Phison controller speed is good even when near full.
* It has a nice RAM buffer too.
* Looks well built.
* The price is competitive with similar products.
* I like Pioneer products in general.
Less good things:
* The controller is the lesser E12S instead of a E12.
* The price could be a bit more competitive with that of 2.5in SATA units.
* Speed with small writes is way behind the top speed of 3GB/s.
As to the latter point and previous comments, don't expect miracles:
* Each byte has to be processed by the CPU on the stick, and for example at 300-400MB/s it gets to 53C (obviously to get to higher transfer speeds it needs some heatsink).
* Flash devices have large minimum sizes for reads ("page") and writes ("erase block") and anything smaller means the minimum size is still read or written. The firmware on the CPU of the stick tries to average things out, but that's not always going to work.
Still it is better than disk drives, that have read/write rates of 0.5-1MB/s for small reads and writes, and 150-200MB/s for large reads and writes.

I wasn't bothered about getting a massive storage space as I intended using a few USB hard drives as well, so I went for the basic 256GB model.
Thanks also to MSI's easy to use laptop, removing the bottom panel and installing the SSD was easy. Copied my Windows installation over, and it's worked perfectly. It always boots up Windows from cold to fully operational in about 10-15 seconds. I've been hitting this laptop 7 days a week for over a month now, and the hard drive has been working flawlessly without any issues whatsoever.
Granted it's difficult to say much about this sort of product, but all I can say is that after several weeks heavy usage, it's working without issue and you can't expect more than that. So I completely recommend it.
