I bought this for my kittens, as I started them on raw and wanted to make sure they have constant, clean, running water to add to their health and I can honestly say after two weeks of having it I love it. It's super quiet, easy to clean, the cats love drinking out of it (and playing in it). I have suggested it to all my friends and will probably be getting another one for my mum's dogs soon.

I have had this fountain for almost 4 years and it has never failed me. I have 2 Persian cats who use it constantly and I only take it apart to wash it (by « taking apart », i mean, the pump too.) once a month and I have never had any problems. Keep in mind that both my cats lose a lot of fur and the fur does get inside the bowl and the filter... and still... it works like new every second of every day.

People who complain about the pump not working probably don’t know how to clean it properly.

A hit with both the dog and cat!

I purchased this to replace an older pet fountain that we had which was made in plastic. The size is perfect to water the dog and cat and I love that it is very easy to clean; no weird tiny corners that can't be reached; it can go in the dishwasher or be handwashed without a problem.
My only concern is that it is quite heavy being ceramic; I can imagine myself dropping it on the way to the sink or something; for this reason, I'm thinking the stainless steel version would have been a better idea. On the other hand, this looks very nice in the white and fits in with the rest of our decor!
It is a bit louder than the fountain we replaced, I'm not sure if maybe the pump doesn't get submerged enough? It's not so loud that it's annoying though. Just sort of a background hum. It reminds me of an aquarium and if we lived in a smaller home or apartment and I had to listen to it while trying to sleep, it would be an issue for me.
Another (maybe) drawback is the pump itself; there is a filter, but I'm not sure how much is being filtered before going into the pump. Even though it's in the same enclosure, the filter and pump are separated, so the pump has to be cleaned out often as fur gets into it (isn't the filter there to stop this from happening?). I also have to play with it a bit after cleaning otherwise it doesn't seem to work well.

I have two cats with urinary issues. Even though they're fed a moisture-rich diet, I still felt that they weren't drinking enough. After searching high and low for a ceramic pet fountain that wouldn't be very loud (family members are very sensitive to noise -- we didn't even want to hear the trickling sound from the other models), we finally splurged on this item.

It's expensive, but I am noticing my cats drinking SO much more often, so I am very happy! It is also very easy to clean, and heavy enough that they don't knock the bowl around if they end up with a case of zoomies nearby.

In terms of noise? Practically silent. Definitely quieter than a fridge so we don't notice the noise. You do have to fill it often if you have multiple pets and if you have a dry home like us, but the fact that there is no trickling noise from the water makes me very happy!

100% recommend for people who have cats. My dog likes it too but he's never been picky about where he drinks his water from ;)
