This was a sad story. I think there was only one scene that was kinda funny. This book deals with domestic abuse and Alzheimer's. I have personal experience with a loved one that Alzheimer's, so that was tough to read.
I really liked the hero and the heroine. Both written as broken characters. Honestly, the heroine should have been in therapy. Which is why I'm rating this a bit lower. I think this could have been written better. I'm reading a pivotal scene and the heroine says " I'm not scared anymore " and I'm thinking, since when?? I felt like I missed something along the way.
The Hero's mother was awesome. I absolutely adored her. And his pit bull Rocky.
There were some loose ends not tied up in the epilogue, but it was still very sweet.
