This is my first time trying out reusable pads and I am LOVING them! I'm started using the 10in pad as soon as I felt the first tickle of "auntie rose". I really like how comfortable the cloth pads are, they are super breathable and absorbent. I feel dry using them and didn't have to worry that the blood will seep onto my clothes. But just to be safe, I do have special "period underwear" I wear to be leak proof, but so far, no leaks. When I use traditional disposable pads, it was easy for me to get yeast infection because of the way moisture gets trapped from the blood and the pad would smell so horrible. But with this pad, no yucky smell, no "swamp" feeling in my lady parts and all I can say is that I wish I would've discovered these earlier!
Update after my 1st full cycle:
Here's my break down on the amount of pads used:
Day 1: 3 pads -one 10in + one 12 in + one 14in during sleep
Day 2: 3 pads - two 12 in + one 14in during sleep
Day 3: 3 pads - one 12 in + one 10 in + one 12 inch during sleep
Day 4: 1 pad - one 10 inch
Day 5: 1 pad - one 10 inch
The pads were so absorbent, I didn't to use any "period underwear". The seller is nice and included 30 strips of double side tapes for you to secure your pad to your panties, but the natural clip on the pad was more than enough to make sure the pad stays in its proper place, so I didn't need to use any of the tapes. On average I only need to change the pads twice a day and then put on the longer night pads when I sleep (a total of 3 pads on heavy days). I noticed a significant reduction to my blood flow, on by late afternoon on day 3, I'm already at a light flow and on day 4, I pretty much just need one 10in pad to stay dry (i would use the HiBaby panty liner, but I didn't get any). The pads are very very easy to clean when I wash them right after I change out of them. I run them through cold water and keep squeezing the pad until the water is clear, and then I use soap to wash them and then rinse. Then I clip them onto a hanger and let it air dry. With our warm California sun, the 10in and 12in pads dries in a day where as the longer night time pads takes an extra day to fully dry.
I am so happy with these pads, I'm introducing them to all my girl friends. The clean and dry feeling is better than any conventional disposable pads and I hope more ladies will try them out!
