Admittedly, I have now read other Photoshop books, but this also allows me to say that dozens of other Photoshop books better cover topics attempted in this book, by a long measure.
The central problem is that this book's goal seems to be to cover much of of Photoshop's massive waterfront of capabilities, and ends up sadly and very superficially covering any topic or user problem usefully. Far better would have been to focus exclusively on Restoration and maybe retouching (the before/after of retouching show little improvement) in some depth.
Ms. Eismann is very talented and experienced, but this is a wasted effort. I think she teaches so maybe this book is an expanded course outline for her students. If so, each chapter is at best a pointer for the student to focus elsewhere to learn the chapter's topic.
As I said, I purchased being very excited, and am now very disappointed and returning the book. Of the many hundreds of books I have purchased at Amazon, I have never returned a book.
