RARE: Rescue and Retrieval Extractions
-they took on the missions that
no one else wanted and did not
stop until the job was done

After a long stint in the military, Phoenix hooked up with RARE so he could continue to do what he did best…..Rescuing people and dispensing punishment to those who deserved it. However, lately he had been feeling like something was missing in his life.
Serenity had been running for several years from her pack who wanted to use her for her special healing abilities, and from a psychotic wolf shifter who insisted she was his mate. She had not realized there were worse things to be running from until she was kidnapped by the General’s men. After several months of being held in captivity, a rescue attempt was made by RARE at the facility where she and several other women were being held. During the chaos, Serenity and one of the RARE team members were taken by the General. Once Phoenix finds out Serenity is his mate, nothing will stop him from finding her and freeing her.
When Serenity’s demons from her past come back to haunt her, Phoenix must keep her safe not only from the General, but also from her past if they want a future together.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great series 2 December 2015

I am always excited to find a new series that is so good I can't stop reading, going from one book to the next until I'm waiting on the release of the next book. This is all that. Dawn Sullivan is also a new author to me, which is even more exciting, because it means there are other series out there to explore. In fact I found there is a related series to RARE, the White River Wolves. Book one of that series fits into RARE as book 2.5. If you like strong, protective, caring alpha males and kick-ass alpha females, you will probably like this series. It has become one of my new favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars Phoenix is just WOW... that's all I can say LOL 6 October 2015

O. M. G. I swear this author is trying to kill me. How can a story be so freaking incredible that you can't put it down, connect with the characters immediately (i.e. feel their emotions and struggles) and feel so freaking gutted when the end comes? But that is exactly how I feel right now.
Phoenix is just simply incredible, no other way to put him. He grabs your attention almost right away. I'd say he's hardcore, tough as nails... but that would really describe each character in the books in their own ways. He is one sexy beast though.
Then you have Serenity who is being held captive by the general. She's feisty and will not go along with the General's demands. And she holds on to the thought of one of the other girls premonitions coming true... That her mate will rescue her.
This story was even better than the last and I have to say... it scares me for the books yet to come LMAO!!!! The emotional toll that all the characters, really, are going through kills me. It's one HUGE revelation after another. However, I still have some questions and certain people's stories I want, but that's just because of their important roles in each of these terrific books.
Phoenix's love for Serenity goes way before he even meets her. And Serenity's love for Phoenix goes before she knows more than just his name. There is a hilarious part in the book... (in the teaser) that cracks me up because of the situation and because I love the two characters involved.
This is another MUST READ book. Author Dawn Sullivan is really a diamond in the rough and if you haven't read her books you really need to... Just WOW!
5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Read!! 30 June 2015

I love Phoenix and Serenity 's book, and how more new characters join the old ones. This was another great read and just wish that Angel would pull her head out of her butt and accept Chase, after all they are true mates. I dont know why she bit him after he told her that since she doesn't want him for a mate and wasn't looking for one, he decided to let her go so he can continue on with his life and hopefully find love with someone else. She got jealous and bit him just so he wont be able to find someone else. Totally selfish on her part, i soo feel sorry for Chase and hope that these 2 will sort themselves out.

This story is mostly about Phoenix & Serenity & their mating; but it also has the intricacies of all the other matings that are in the beginning stages of some of the other single people in RARE. It still has the good vs bad plot in it & not only is there 1 bad guy (The General) but there was another one in this story after Serenity & he was from her old pack. Angel the head of RARE is also finding out how much damage the General has done to her as she learns that not only did he kidnap her daughter when she was 4 (Angel has been looking for her all this time), but she also had been lied to after she had given birth to not only Jade (that's the daughter's name) but to a son as well & had been told that he (his name is Jinx) died in childbirth. There is so much going on but you can follow it & get a lot of enjoyment while reading this book. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.
3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars 1 January 2015

I would have happily given this book 4 stars based on the story alone. It's another action packed thrill ride that has plenty of passion to keep you reading late into the night. We see several of our favorite characters from Nico's Heart and meet quite a few new ones. The only reason I gave it 3.5 stars is the fact that there were parts that seemed a bit repetitive. I understand an author repeating something that happened in another book in the series to refresh the reader's memory, but there were a few times where the author repeated something that happened earlier in this book and it felt unnecessary to me. That being said, I've really enjoyed all of the books that I've read by Dawn Sullivan and will continue to read her books as quickly as she makes them available.

My personal recommendation would be that this book is for readers 18 and over.
