Product Description

#30 in the Peter And The Monsters series!

Peter's life has been going well. No new enemies have surfaced the last few months, and he's been able to relax and enjoy himself for once.

Then someone from Peter's past walks back into his life and turns everything upside-down.

Not only must Peter face his worst fears, but Grandfather must confront his own past and the memories he has been trying to forget.

Warning: this is probably the darkest tale in the series so far. Parental guidance suggested for thematic material.

60,000 words, or about 250 pages. This book is a sequel to the following:

PETER AND THE ZOMBIES (#28)
PETER AND THE NEW BEST FRIEND (Story #27)
PETER AND THE ELVES (Story #26)
PETER AND THE GHOST (Volume Seven)
PETER AND THE NINJA (Volume Six)
PETER AND THE WITCHES (Volume Five)
PETER AND THE MUMMY (Volume Four)
PETER AND THE FRANKENSTEIN (Volume Three)
PETER AND THE WEREWOLVES (Volume Two)
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES (Volume One)

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST READ 7 June 2016

I read this book in a day....I couldn't put it down. I cried through the last several chapters. I've followed these stories since book #1!!! They're so good! This book answered so many BIG questions...and my jaw was on the floor the whole time! My kids, 11 and 12, have read all of these with me. Darren was nice enough to suggest "pre-reading" this one first because it was darker then the previous books. That IS true. There wasn't much of the Peter and Dill comedy you usually get; but oh my god it was so good. If you follow this series you HAVE to read this book. If you haven't read/started this series...I highly suggest you do. We do so much laughing when reading these. The adventure is always keyed up to a 10. The writing and the imagination, the flow....seriously, the author KNOWS his stuff! I can't believe this guy isn't on every persons book shelves. I am a huge book worm; I've constantly got a book or series I'm reading but I get bored pretty quick. People, this is a series of 30 books (so far)...the fact I'm still reading says it all. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book or at least an idea as to when it is to be released! Keep it up Mr. Pillsbury!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart Touching. 17 May 2016

i Do not know what could i say about Peter and the Past, it was wonderfully written and the story is quite amazing, i have always regarded grandpa Flanagan as a broken hero instead of a crazy old man, but the man has suffered, and he is by far my favorite character. I believe what he has done and still has to do is amazing and it is a shame he does not share it openly, at least not yet, with his grandson, i believe peter will understand, he is a brilliant boy and he a ninja after all.

Be aware that Peter and the past offers a very bald view of how people can be so easy manipulated by claims of religious leaders as we see always on the internet or papers, people giving all their stuff and lives to false "lamps of gods". It can be hard to swallow, but it is true, i am ashamed and sad for Nathan Normal and his decision to believe what he did above believing in love.

I gave five stars, as i always do to Peter and The Monsters, JUST because i could not give more starts.
5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for Peter fans! 25 May 2016

I was a little hesitant to continue with the Peter series after book 29. Although you wouldn't consider me a teen reader.....62 is way past teen, I was never the less intrigued and hooked. After a rather lengthy wait time Darren surprised us with book 29. And I was faced with a lack luster account of dull repetition and repeated words. I felt my favorite author had lost his muse. However.......Peter is BACK and so is Darren. This book, while not a stand alone book, is not only well written, he is full of answers to most of the questions we have had regarding the GRUFF old man. And Mr Pillsbury has again successfully hooked this reader. If you have NOT read the series from book 1, THIS reviewer would strongly suggest that you dig into your piggy bank and spend a few dusty coins on a delightful series that is full or heart, suspense, adventures, and surprises.
And again, I will be one of the followers waiting for the email telling me that book 31 is ready for purchase,
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome story line. 7 September 2016

I love these books. This one is a bit dark which we were cautioned about but honestly it isn't too bad in that respect. I would LOVE to see more installments come quicker so everyone get the word out about the Peter series. This series could EASILY me made into a TV series and would make it BIG. You just get attached to the characters and I love the innocent humor of these kids. My kids and I talk about the books alot and frequently refer to funny parts in our life and we laugh together. There is no foul language or sex stuff, just innocent humor which I adore. Thanks Mr. Pillsbury!

Once again Mr. Pillsbury has published an extraordinary tale! I bought the book at 10 am on Friday, May 13th, and , due to being a parent, just finished it (its 11:38 pm EST, Saturday, May 14th).

There are a few spelling errors, but the story is excellent and definitely answered a LOT of the questions I accumulated during the past 29 books. THANK YOU, DARREN PILLSBURY! This book was an answer to my prayers!
