There is a plot and a few story lines to this book. Each of them are well written and flowed together instead of jumping from scene to scene with no sense of order.
This book was hot and dirty but also sweet and sensuous. There were couplings for m/m, f/f/, m/f and multiple partners. No one gets left out. While the majority of the pairings were not my usual cuppa it was a very enjoyable read. There is a second book and I am looking forward to it!
Thank you Ms. Grace!

K D Grace is an excellent writer. Surprises are revealed throughout which makes the story even more interesting. I have read a few "Pet" stories but they have been very harsh in the main and Ms Grace's story is different in that despite the BDSM elements it is more sensual than cruel and I love a HEA ending.
I read the Initiation of Ms Holly quite some time ago and have forgotten it (I have a bad memory which is good when re-reading stories!)and will be reading it again soon.
I read mainly US erotica and bought quite a few GB erotica books recently but I just couldn't get into them at all and didn't even finish most of them. I didn't find the sex scenes in these books (by different authors) at all erotic but Ms Grace writes erotica beautifully. Ms Grace has the ability to successfully span the Atlantic and appeal to readers wherever they live.
The editing is also excellent and there were no grammatical or spelling mistakes and anyone who has read any of my other reviews will know this is an important point with me.
I will be reading more of K D Grace who is now on my shortlist of favourite writers
The story’s protagonist, Stella, is the hard-working employee of an environmental agency whose employers decide to provide her with a ‘pet’, Tino, for the weekend in recognition of all her hard work. Expecting a rather more conventional employee reward – like some theatre tokens for example - Stella is surprised to take delivery of a sexy guy who comes compete with collar, lead, instruction manual and near-permanent erection.
Despite her initial reservations, Stella soon gets into the swing of things enjoying a weekend of sexy fun with her obedient ‘pet’ before having to return him to his handlers. Unable to put Tino from her mind, she is desperate to see him again and finds herself eager to find out more about him - to find out who he really is when he is not being a kinky housepet for paying customers.
When she finds Vincent Evanston , a wealthy, reclusive naturalist and Tino’s alter ego, she discovers a man as different in temperament from Tino as it is possible to be. As their mutual attraction grows, Stella needs to find a way to understand the two seemingly contradictory sides to Tino/Vincent’s personality.
Along the way, we find out more about The Pet Shop and how it operates through Alan and Annie, Stella’s bosses and secret pet shop string-pullers and through Stella’s ongoing quest to understand more about the organisation, even to the extent of training to become a pet herself where she finds herself on the receiving end of a belt whipping for breaking pet shop rules.
Alongside the hot animal sex, spankings and three-ways, there is a nicely satisfying story at the heart of this story as Stella and Vincent develop their relationship both inside and outside ‘the Pet Shop’.
The Pet Shop is about Stella James who happens to love her job - you could say she is married to it! A throwaway remark results in Stella receiving a gift from her boss - a gift that is about to change her life.
Her present is'nt the normal "gift token" it is a pet a human pet (yeah :)) Stella is unsure how to react to Tino but after he is left in her care over the weekend she begins to understand the concept of having and keeping a pet.
Stella meets reclusive Vincent Evanston, powerful and rich and bears a striking resemblence to Tino. Stella becomes obsessed with both men and will stop at nothing (including becoming a pet herself)to obtain answers she wants. When she eventually gets her answer does she like what she finds???????
This was a great read, smoking hot sex and a very different take on of domination and submission. It is funny, creative but beware it might not be to every readers liking - me? - I loved it!
It's not my kink. Have you ever read a book and found it completely sizzling hot even though it's not your kink? Well yeah this was a book like that for me. It had me wanting to be in the book and I'd not really got anything from this kind of thing before.
Another wonderful story filled with sizzling stuff from K.D. Now I need the others in the story arch :)
