The characters and stories cover a true blend of society and its attitudes. It is provocative and challenging to read with the ability to make you laugh and cry. Whilst fiction, parts of this book appear to be very close to 'Will's' one off print. The set or one of the books are easy to read again and worth keeping around.

I really enjoyed this Box Set Series. The character descriptions were very good, I could picture everyone. The stories made you feel like you were part of the large family. I wish there were more books coming in the series. All good reads.

I have to start off by saying that we haven't read a lot of books in this gene but so far out of the authors I have read Ms Wells is one of my favorites. This author creates amazing characters that you just can't help but fall in love with.

Blake and Will definitely a favorite couple in this series.I loved both of them.Blake and Will at first seem to be a odd couple at first glance. What does a owner of a publishing company have in common with an escort other than chemistry and great sex?Blake is just what he seems confident man in work and business who is well liked and even loved by his team members at work.Yet that being said he has always kept his personal life and secret from his family and friends and about him being gay. Will on the other hand is out of the closet as they say and has had a very hard life up to this point.Non accepting parents through him out when he was a teen and he was forced to be what they call a rent boy just to survive. One of the things I loved about Will is he never tried to hide his past or the things he was forced to do but owned up to it all and just turned the negative in to the positive that just made him a stronger individual.

Will and Blake's night together is a one off when they meet .Its just and evening of Blake paying for a evening of sexual pleasure and Will is actually Alex at this point but turns up the next day as Will office applying for a job as a personal assistant .Can you say awkward?

A rocky start in this couples relationship turned into so much more.Wow! the chemistry this couple had was super hot. They had several heated sexual encounters as well as a little bdsm thrown into the mix. Making their love making moments super hot and fun and playful and Alex makes an appearance every now and then just to spice things up a bit. This is the one time that ones past makes for a more of and interesting sex life for this couple as Will aka Alex has done it all.Grins...Just a really cute couple that balanced out one another.

Found Blake to be confident kind,passionate,love-able,sexy and on hand we saw sadness, loneliness and unhappiness at constantly hiding who and what he truly is that makes him happy.

Will on the other hand I loved him right off strong and confident emotional and very sensitive who had an amazing personality. He seemed to be at ease in his own skin and take the bull by the horn type and takes what he wants when he wants it.Will is that type who is definitely the dominate in his relationship with Blake.

An amazing love story that had many ups and downs along with many surprises thrown in the mix.I loved both Will and Blake they were a really cute couple that we saw blossom throughout the pages just by being together. This couple brought happiness into each other lives at a point when both this couple need change at this point in their lives. An emotional tale that tugged at your heart strings who had you from the onset rooting for a happily ever after for an amazing couple who truly belongs together.

Loved it!

Rick and Angelo's Tale

This story had a lot of emotional ups and down for the characters as well as it reader. My heart broke for this couple at the heart ache and the decisions Angelo's parents were forcing him to make .Either Colin or them.

Rick works for Blake at Trinity publishing and loves his job and friends but, his love life is seriously lacking.

Omg !The hottest and intense memorable moment in the story took place when Ben and Ollie a couple in love and who are partners love to play.Their game tonight is Rick!Rick will forever remember his night with Ollie and Ben forever as it brought the hottest sexual gratification he has ever received in his long list of lovers. Omg! fanning yourself ladies and gents..

Rick at this point in his life is tired of the one night stands and is looking for something more meaningful and serious.Rick was definitely a guy unlucky at love and also had an awful taste in men until he meets Angelo from a situation that almost lead him to becoming a rape victim.

I liked Angelo he was outgoing kind gentle supportive and artist who was an all around great guy who seemed to be happy with his life. His attraction is Rick is overwhelming and someone who he can't seem to forget. From the onset of seeing Rick from across the room he became protective of him and vowed to watch over him even before meeting him.Did Angelo know right then in there that Rick was his Soul mate? And if so why is he willing to give up the love of his life to remain part of a family who are non accepting of who and what he is?

An emotional tale of a couple who are meant to be together and who make one another happy and fulfilled yet choses you lead a life of unhappiness over love.My heart broke for this couple and the unhappiness and pain that brought Angelo to make the decisions he was forced to make even if they were the wrong ones because of his family.

Rick was my favorite character in this story.I truly felt his pain and suffering an unhappiness he was experiencing as nothing seemed ever to work out for his benefit. So unlucky in love and his doomed relationship brings him to the point where he would rather be alone then to ever experience the pain he is currently feeling over his breakup with Angelo.

Ricks saviors are Blake ,Will and Ed who are there for him not matter what and he could not but help but love them for it even more than he already did.He is truly blessed to have them as friends and he knows with their help he might survived the heartbreak he is currently experiencing .

A page turner that was filled with so much emotion, love ,friendship and sexual gratification and one overcoming life hurtles that were placed in ones path. The story had a great cast of characters with so many different personalities making it intriguing fun that brought you many laughs as well as many tears.

Ed and Colin's Tale

Loved this couple and their very intense love affair.

Ed has been with us from the start of this series and remains a constant favorite of mine.I loved him from the onset.Sexy,brash,love-able,funny ,protective of those he loves and type who speaks his mind and doesn't give a crap about what others think.Ed up until this point has been the loyal friend to all and a great guy to work with and for.He always seemed happy yet perhaps a bit lonely without even realizing it.Ed's love life has been lacking of late and seeing all of those around him finding love and happiness has him thinking about his own life.Does he want to find what his Boss and Co workers have found or is happy with how his life is at this moment? For Ed he has never had a problem with his friends and boss being gay as he has been with both men and women. It matters not he loves and cares for them as well as being protective over them and enjoys seeing them happy .How they chose to live their life is their business and not his place to judge them.

Ed and Colin have been best buds for over a year and yet one night with much drink under their belts changes things between them and their friendship.A night of a hot sexual gratification between them changes things and has Ed questioning his own sexual preferences. Was this encounter just about sexual release or is he truly attracted to Colin?

Colin on the other hand has had a thing for Ed for sometime but knows he is straight and has never made a move on him yet this encounter has him thinking could he have more than friendship with Ed?

Colin is comfortable in his own skin and has no problem letting people he knows he is gay.Ed on they other hand has to find his way to decide if he is straight,bi sexual or gay.

I loved this couple as Ed was so different from Colin he was had a hard edge to him yet friendly and kind but the kind of man who scared others to death.Colin was the sensitive and kind and funny type who was comfortable in his own skin and enjoyed life to the fullest. This couple had amazing chemistry super hot sexual encounters who were truly made for one another. Each of them different yet had much in common with each other yet the perfect mate for one another.

And emotional tale of a couple who struggle to find balance in their relationship when one who hasn't come to terms with his own sexuality and what other people think of him of being in a relationship with another man yet the other one could not care the least what people thought of them.We saw a lot of ups and downs for this couple but we also saw a couple who truly loved one another who just need to find a way to be a couple.

Of all the couples throughout the stories this couple had to deal with more hate and bigotry from others and those who were small minded.Perhaps being Rugby players had something to do with that.As with any relationship you have those who accept and hate you for who and what you are and who you chose to love.

I loved the story from cover to cover.I loved Ed from the beginning and I so wanted him to find his own happiness so I was thrilled to be along the ride with him as he found the love of his life.I loved how every time you though you had Ed figured out he did something that surprised you had you admitting you didn't know him as well as you think you did.

Another awesome tale that carried its characters from one book to the next that had you laughing one moment and crying the next.

A recommend series to all.We loved the entire series and its characters and will definitely be re-reading about them at a later date.Another series for the keeper shelf and looking so forward to this authors latest releases.

5 stars for us

My overall thoughts

One of the things that I love about this author writing and characters is that she makes you fall in love with her characters from the onset. When I read her stories I love seeing her couples fall in love and overcoming things in their relationships that all couples face.Yes her books happen to be about two same sexual males but she focuses on them as a couple and them finding their way with one another and not such much at just being a gay male.Yes they have more hurtles to overcome then most couples but is it any different from what and interracial couple has to go through...
4.0 out of 5 stars Back and forth. Good series! 11 May 2017

Making It Personal: Book 1

Where to start….
I’m on the fence with this one, I cannot lie. I tried really hard to enjoy it, but there was just too much….. First, we start with the rich, closeted CEO who’s alone for his 30th birthday. He’s hoping his dad will hand over the reins to the company to him because he technically already did, but not really… if that makes sense… So he hires himself a rent-boy…. No, not one from the streets but from an actual escort service. Of course the guys don’t use their real names, so he had no way of knowing that the rent boy who’d changed his life in one night could actually be the guy that he hired last night, right?......Okay.
Aside from that… I guess because I’m just NOT a fan of the rent boy trope, I just told myself that his every excuse was ridiculous. I’m also in hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt from student loans…and have two kids, a house to keep together and a husband to keep happy. The kid had no other responsibilities but student loans? And he couldn’t find a regular job to make money? I mean, he eventually did, right? He’s a PA to most eligible bachelor, CEO of publishing company, Blake Davis, right?
Then we have Blakes dad… who through the whole book, is a total A-hole. He’s a jerk and doesn’t treat Blake right at all. He’s unfair and hateful and by the end, it’s all a misunderstanding?? So much stuff goes on and the chick who’s threatening to expose Blake for being gay almost ruins his life and causes Blake to treat Will like crap because of the dad thing, and…. Whoops, nevermind! Say whaaaaat?
Then we have the Melissa chick. She’s not worth talking about, but I’ll say she’s a shebi+ch and I’m glad she got a heavy dose of karmic justice… Ridiculous storyline with her. And Karen as well, I didn’t feel that was believable in the least and everyone just kind of overlooked her ridiculous claims. Her whole storyline was so unnecessary.
I will say, aside from the dialogue being terrible, the steamy stuff was hot… Again, terrible dialogue, but hot sex and a happily ever after ending so it wasn’t all bad.
3 stars for me.

Personal Changes: Book2

Okay, for this one, I tried to forget that I’d read the first one and didn’t care for it. I understood that this one could be standalone-ish.. So I was going to give it a try; afterall, I really wanted Rick to get over his unrequited thing for Blake. We’ve all been there, right? It sucks, so I was really rooting for him… So I went into it with an open mind…
Like double penetration? (Who doesn’t) Like attempted rape and low self-esteem? (What’s that, now?) How about violent, bigoted families? Ridiculous familial demands that are so outside the realm of …. Anything, that I found myself rolling my eyes so hard, I could practically see behind me, and he considers it enough to where they do the obligatory break up and then we have a back and forth of, “did I do the right thing?” No, you absolutely did not and you know that you didn’t from the jump. “Maybe I made a mistake”… Ya think?
I literally want to scream right now and then find Angelo and his family and first tell Angelo that he’s a 30 year old man… Stop listening to your daddy and grow a pair… The rest of the family, I’d like to take them to an ocean and drop them off in shark infested waters. How can people be so terrible? I mean, seriously…. I’m honestly curious. It made me sick to my stomach… I’m also not a fan of m/m/m, so this one was a little harder for me to get into.
What I did love, was Angelo. I kept pulling for him because I feel like he deserved so much. He broke my heart and I needed him to find his little bit of happy. He did, and I was so happy for that. This isn’t an easy read, because I felt so much for him, like I wanted to exact vengeance or just …carry him around with me all the time so I could pull him out and hug him every once in a while lol
Aside from the few things that made me want to scream in frustration…. I was happy with how things turned out.
3 stars for me!

More Than Personal- Book 2.5

Awww… hot guys with dirty mouths and new babies… What could be better!
I was having a tough time getting into the series, but this short sweet read made me do a complete flip flop. In this one, it’s Will’s birthday and Blake wants to make it special. It takes place several years later, I believe they’ve been married for 6 years, now and they’re just as in love as they were in the beginning. Blake, has plans and sets up a night to role play back when he’d first met Will…. When he was Alec… Sheeeew, that was hot….
Donna, the surrogate and good friend, calls them after their night of fun and tells them their baby is on the way! It was a bit of a rollercoaster of worry, as the mom and baby were both under distress, causing the guys (and me) a lot of worry… luckily, they had some awesome friends.
Overall, this was just a short, sweet little catch up and I’m kinda excited to read more about this Collin fella. I’m hoping he’s next : ) Although I wouldn’t mind reading more of this little family with their new addition. So cute!
4 stars for me!

Personal Secrets- Book 3
Ed and that accent… Goodness!
Okay, so we met Colin in the novella, when he acted as a DD to take Ed to the hospital when Will and Blake was welcoming their baby girl into the world… I was hoping we’d get more of these two! I wasn’t disappointed. See, Colin has had a crush on Ed for the last year or so but Ed was straight, right?
Turns out, not so much. I’ve gotta say that this one has been my favorite in this series so far. Aside from the bigotry and hateful words and actions of a couple people, it mostly a sweet story of these two guys falling so hard for each other. Of course there were some bumps along the way… Mainly because Ed was trying to come to terms with his new label and figuring out what exactly that was… but, it was low angst and just very sweet. I loved Colin and he was so patient and understanding… Sigh…. He was great.
I thought that the Mellissa thing was a bit unnessisary and came outta nowhere, seein as her stuff ended six years ago… it was satisfying to see where she was at though and how desperate she was. I got a good chuckle at Ed’s warmth towards her lol …. The other part I didn’t care for, was Sam….everyone saw what was up with her, but as always Blake is effing clueless to the point that it’s frustrating. She got dealt with eventually though, so there is that.
I was kinda salty that nothing happened to Murphy, the problem causer on the team and the rest of his homophobic big mouths, we all know how I feel about karmic justice, and I felt like he needed some missing teeth or a busted up face, to say the least…. Oh, well…. I have an imagination, right?
Blake and Will were getting on well with their new family, I liked seeing them and how they’re doing.
I hope we get to read about the new guy on the team.. Derek was his name? And the opposing team member that he seemed so smitten with. But overall, I’d love to read more about these two, Ed and Colin… I’d continue this series just to read more about them. Very cute!
4 stars for me!

Strictly Personal- Book 3.5

More Ed and Colin! I loved this little novella… I swear, Ed and Colin are my absolute favorite in this series! In this one, it’s Valentine’s Day weekend and Colin has made some plans. He whisks Ed away for a romantic weekend, some fun stuff and a plan that I’d been hoping for… Everything goes great at first, but being that it’s also Friday the 13th, and Ed’s superstitious-spidey senses are tingling, he just knows something bad is going to happen… and it does… a couple things actually, and I was worried there for a few minutes. Fortunately, everything gets better, because these guys are just too amazing not too…
Oh, and lemme tell ya, there is a hot scene with a stripper that you are not gonna wanna miss! I loved that they had boundries and they didn’t take it too far. I love that Ed spoke up and his possessiveness was acknowledged. I just loved the whole thing. I can’t wait to read more about these two, I’m so glad I didn’t give up on this series from book 2. I had a hard time liking that one, but Ed and Colin has more than made up for it.
You’ll also get an update from Will and Blake and their family! Yay!
Overall, such a cute little short read.
4 stars for me on this one : )

Personal Challenges- Book 4

Wow, there is so much going on in this one. I dunno where to start!
First, I guess this one is said that it can be read as a standalone, but I wouldn’t recommend it. While I really struggled to get through books one and two, I was blown away by book 3 and the novella’s, AND Ed and Colin.
First things first, though… We have Will, Blake and their little Sophie… Everyone is perfect and happy and together when they decide they want another addition to their family. And they get one… not everything is perfect though and they’re faced with some difficult situations about new baby Nathan. I loved seeing this little family together and I loved all the support they got from all the other guys. They’ve become this huge, chosen family and I loved catching up and seeing everyone. The ending though, with baby Nathan… couldn’t stop my sappy tears at bay. I love how things ended for them…. Or are just getting to the good parts of life, I’d rather say…. It was nowhere near an ending and I was so happy with how things turned out…
Then we have Angelo and Rick… still not really a fan of these two. They fiiiinally get married, after how many years?? 8?? All because Angelo couldn’t stand up to his mother? I still find that so ridiculous. Then it all gets solved in one conversation because duh, their Catholic family wouldn’t come to a wedding of homosexuals, so why did they need to keep postponing it for years and years… and they couldn’t have a traditional wedding in a Catholic church, because they don’t cater to the homo’s either… I mean… come on… Don’t get me wrong, I love Rick and Angelo together as a couple… they’re cute together and I love how they love each other, but… surely they aren’t that clueless… I mean… seriously… BUT THEY WERE! Forgive my harsh words, but book 2, as well as all the things with these two in them, I just couldn’t get behind. Cute but infuriatingly clueless… Glad they finally got married though…
And lastly, we have Ed and Colin… my favorite. Happy and healthy and together after all these years as well, when Colin gets a call from his past and it knocks him for a loop. I’ve got to say that it came out of left field for me, that one… but Ed was so supportive and understanding, even when he didn’t have to be….Even when there were things that should’ve and did make him mad… He was still the one who held Colin together. I loved that so much. I loved how they were with Sophie, they were the best Uncles ever and I love how things ended with them as well. I could always read more of these two...
Overall, it was a great read with a really nice, wrapped up ending.
4 stars from me : )

This is not my first time reading this author and it won’t be my last. I loved this whole series. These men...made me melt. The writing the people the setting. This is a box set and I can’t even tell you who my favorite is. They all cross over so we get to read them all in this box set. As the series progresses so do the people. Each book in this set overlaps a bit and can be read as a standalone except for the novellas. They are linked to the books. I do suggest that you read them in order so you get a better feel of the people. They are some great people. This book also spans roughly 8-10 years in the lives of these 3 couples and their family and friends

Book 1: Making it Personal

This is the Story of Blake and Will. I love these guys. Blake is in the closet and he hides who is he for fear of ruining the company name of Trinity Publishing, that his father owns. He also doesn't have the best relationship with his father. Now, I adored Will. He is a great guy and he is a dominant man. Oh by golly will he set you on fire. There are some bumps and bruises along the way that need to be overcome. Will is exactly what Blake needs. I love their beginning, how they meet and their story in general. Their meeting is not at all how I expected it.

Book 2: Personal Changes

This book is Rick and Angelo. Rick works for Blake at Trinity Publishing and doesn’t hide who he is. Though he does hide that he had been in love with his boss for quite some time. In comes Angelo and in the closet Italian whose family is very traditional. Rick is tired of living the one-night stand situation and feels like he is missing something, he is lonely After a rough night with a wake up he decided to make some changes. He wants what Blake and Will have. He wants love. So to the club, he goes and he meets someone. Angelo is looking on and makes it his mission to keep watch on Will and make sure he is safe. In walks Angelo and saves Rick from a very bad situation. I loved these two men too. I can’t pick just one.

Book 2.5: More Than Personal

This is Blake and Will again and it is Blake’s birthday. Will wants to make it special for him. Only they are in a for a rude or not so rude awakening. I love this quick and easy novella. We get to see about five years into their relationship together. I loved this one. I love reading about Blake and Will. I have loved them since book one. These two are wicked hot together. I love how they get each other and they are strong in their relationship. The know what the other is thinking and feeling. They just have that connection.

Book 3: Personal Secrets

This book is Ed and Colin. Ed works as the office manager at Trinity Publishing and is good friends with Blake. Oh, and he is straight or is he? We get to meet Colin for the first time at the end of book 2.5 as he plays Rugby with Ed. Colin drives him to the hospital and their story continues from there. Now I loved Ed and his person, in book one and oh by golly the way he talks. He grew on me and was glad to see he got his book. These two are nothing but all man. Rugged and rough and tumble, beards, and muscle that doesn’t end. Ed especially is what Colin calls a bear. These two are hot and sexy and made me smile non-stop.

Book 3.5: Strictly Personal

This book is Colin taking Ed on a trip for Valentine’s day. He wants to make it special for Ed. This book is quick and easy as well. You will laugh and be like this is so Ed. I liked how down to earth Ed is. He is a bit of a homebody and likes staying in.

In conclusion, this was fun to read. All the men in this series are strong and have great support. It didn’t take long to read as I couldn’t put it down. Join these three couples, read how they meet and fall in love.

2.0 out of 5 stars I've loved KC Wells books since the beginning 30 June 2016
By Beach Steve - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I've loved KC Wells books since the beginning. They were fresh and innovative. The characters came to life. The author gave us a glimpse into the lives of young gay men finding their place in the world. The "Collars and Cuffs" books were masterful.
This series, while not bad, seemed to be a variation of of the same books she had already written. While the characters were different the book followed the same outline as her first books. Also, "Personal" seemed to include more sex. Not that sex is a bad thing but some of the scenes seemed to be interjected needlessly.
I'm looking forward to reading the future KC Wells books that come from her heart, not an outline.
