A table for two

Waitress Tiffany Hayes knows what she wants and she wants Sebastian. Top’s grumpy sommelier calls to her in a way no man has before. She simply needs to show him that they belong together. Finding an opportunity to spend some quality time with him turns out to be the easy part. Convincing Sebastian to look beyond his damaged heart and soul is far more difficult.

A thirst he can’t deny

After losing everything he held dear, Sebastian Lowe has finally rebuilt his life and the walls around his heart. Tiffany is a sweet temptation he struggles to resist. She’s bright and complex, but he’s sure she can’t handle his dark desires. When they’re thrown together on an assignment, he can’t help himself.

A perfect pairing

As passion builds, the new lovers are both forced to face their pasts. To have a future, they must find a way to heal the wounds they thought would haunt them forever.

Wow! I got this for free and couldn't put it down. What a great read. Couldn't recommend it enough. And I loved that it was such a long book. So many books seem to finish five minutes after they start.

This author is always a one click instantly. The way the female character breaks down his barriers to him is amazing, the male character finally believing in her love for him. Truly another great read. Not enough stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars This couple is truly Perfectly Paired. 13 March 2017

Tiffany Hayes has had her sights set on Sebastian Lowe for some time. He is Top’s sommelier and she is desperately drawn to him. She wants to get to know him, spend time with him if only he would let his guard down. War damaged his body and his soul as a double amputee Sebastian has had a hard time letting people in. Tiffany is determined to show him she is the one who can help heal his wounds and fight his demons. Sebastian is not going to make it easy for the feisty Tiffany but she is not one to give up on the people she loves.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Topped Series by Lexi Blake. She is at the top of my favorite writer's list and I drop everything to read one of her stories. This one really got to me on an emotional level. Sebastian has so many demons from the ones he fights because he lost both his legs to war and his family disowning him. Tiffany is just the right girl to help bring him out of his self-imposed emotional prison. When Sebastian and Tiffany start to build a relationship and he begins to relax and make friends with his co-workers it just made me smile.
I thought the chemistry between these two was spot on and I looked forward to their alone time. Even though Sebastian was holding back Tiffany wasn’t going to let him shut her out. When he realizes, he loves her and wants a life with her but is still torn as to whether he is good enough for her. Then the big twist I won’t give anything away but it’s a life or death hold your breath situation that brings it all to a close. This couple is truly Perfectly Paired.

As always with Lexi’s stories, there is some suspense and action to go along with the romance. I loved, love, loved it. Another great read for me. Highly recommend the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Good, The Bad, and Everything In Between 30 November 2016

-Spinoff of M&M series holds its own. The Sanctum/Top series is an offshoot of the Masters & Mercenaries series by Ms. Blake and this is a particularly solid entry to it. I thought Sebastian and Tiffany had their own special challenges that gave a bit of a freshness to the tale and yet was still firmly rooted in the M&M ‘verse.

-Sebastian and Tiffany are a great Beauty and the Beast type love story. Sebastian lost both his legs while serving in the military and he lost his family when he returned because of circumstances beyond his control. So he’s dealing with alot of emotional baggage, but he’s worked his way to Top(restaurant owned by the Taggart brothers from M&M)’s master sommelier, as well as Master at Sanctum. Tiffany is part of the Top crew and she has loved Sebastian from afar, but she’s done with that. When presented with a chance to be paired up with Sebastian as a D/s couple to train another new couple to BDSM, Tiffany is bound and determined (heh) to get her man. Yep, that’s when romance happens.

-Sebastian’s physical challenges are not ignored or glossed over. Sebastian certainly has the Dom personality, but add to that his emotional Chinese Wall, and refusal to ask for help, and his character arc is strong. Ms. Blake delves into the physical challenges that he faces and integrates it seamlessly into this romance, which I appreciated. Subplots twist and change, but ultimately give a bit of external tension to this tortured love story and really helped to solidify Sebastian’s emotional growth.

-BDSM is there, mostly D/s. There’s enough BDSM (Ms. Blake’s tend to stay in the safe, sane and consensual end of the spectrum) and there are enough love scenes to keep this longtime reader happy.

-Great cameos from the M&M crew. The cherry on top is seeing long time favorites pop in to make their presence known. God I love Ian Taggart. *sigh* ok back on track. These cameos are always a treat and they enhanced my overall enjoyment of this tale.

The Bottom Line 4 stars
I really enjoyed this entry in the series and if you’re a Masters & Mercenaries fan, you should absolutely check it out. If not, what are you waiting for? Defintely recommend this series and its spinoffs to those who like a touch of BDSM and suspense with their contemporary romances.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Paired a perfect 5 stars 3 December 2016

Perfectly Paired will amaze you with its attention to detail. The story of a Don who feels he is less than a man due to the loss of his legs from his service to his country and a scatterbrained artist who floats through life. This is the story of Sebastian and Tiffany and how they find their HEA by allowing each other to need the imperfection of the other.

As always with a Lexi Blake book be prepared for an amazing story of dominance and submission that will entice and enthrall you. This is one you will not put down and will read in one sitting. I loved the interplay between Sebastian and Tiffany as they worked together to get what they needed out of each other. As always the submissive holds all the power.

This is one of the best books I have read about the aftercare and needs of an amputee. You do not feel pity for Sebastian but you do understand that all Tiffany wants to do is care for her man. Once Sebastian admits that she is the woman for him the story is one of the most romantic I have read because we get a glimpse into his fear of her leaving him and what it would do to him. The part of the story told from his perspective really got to me and was made sweet by his surrender. You will enjoy this book immensely. There are many familiar characters from Blake's other books to make this an emotionally satisfying book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dominance and Manipulation go 'hand in hand' 4 January 2017

Perfectly Paired took me some time to get into. It was a little slower and Sebastian's stiff and serious personality rubbed me the wrong way. That being said, made his description, personality, and seriousness as a Dom, very consistent. I gradually warmed up to him as I learned more about him, his struggles, and his pleasures. Tiffany' s bubbly and free spirit helped to give their interaction and story line a balance for me.
I'm always in favor of a damsel in distress needing to be saved and Lexi Blake delivered that nicely. I'm sorry to say this book wasn't one of my favorites written by Lexi, but that is definitely not a reason to pass up Lexi Blake's book. If you have been reading the "Masters and Mercenaries" books; then you know the family and friends involved, and you definitely won't want to miss out on Tiffany and Sebastian's story. Plus, the sex is off the charts hot, the banter between them and the family of characters, and the ins and outs of their every day lives can not be ignored. It's a "Masters and Mercenaries" book! You have to read it!

Another great story in the Masters & Mercenaries series set in the parallel realm of Top restaurants. Genuine characters you want to get their HEA with cameo appearance of Ian "Big Tag" Taggart with all his usual sarcastic sartorial wit. The Top stories give a breather from the high drama/espionage/terror plots of M & M series but involve characters who have served their country and come home "damaged", struggling to find their way. Would recommend reading all the books in order to get the maximum enjoyment as characters from each story pop up in contknuing books. Love these stories & love this author.
