A read-in-one-day book that you won't want to put down. A great read and highly recommended!

A thoroughly engrossing storyline that kept me interested from beginning to end. Excellent plot, with plenty to keep the reader guessing right to the end, even if you THINK you know what is happening. The characters were well filled out and it was easy to like them and understand their thoughts and emotions - nothing too outlandish that would make them unbelievable. All the loose threads were tied up nicely at the end, leaving the reader very satisfied, instead of the frustration of some thrillers. Highly recommended book, and I'm off to explore other stories from this author now.

Too long to set scene with rushed climax. A third narrator - the nanny would have been interesting as outcome was predictable & would have given more depth

I found this all quite surreal, the dialogue was unrealistic and I guessed it must have been written by a guy who doesn’t know much about women at all, if he did, his main male protagonist would not have survived after some of the dreck he said to his wife! 🙄
The story was ok, I couldn’t write a book, so, good one! I enjoyed the beginning then started to skim.

Far fetched and unenjoyable

I really disliked this book, spelling mistakes, plus the characters were really obsessed with how rich they were and mentioned this on regular occasions making them seem very self centred and show offs. The story was really far fetched and I just didnt like the whole package! I've not read this author before and I think this book will put me off

avoid!

I fully agree with the other 1 star reviews-a truly terribly written book..a 10 year old could have done better!
So many errors-words used incorrectly and loads of spelling mistakes too.
The idea was actually quite a good one-but the plot was turned into a clunky and repetitive bore..I have a rule that I never give up on a book that I've paid for so I kept going ..such a waste of time.
I wont be revisiting this author.

Shockingly poorly written
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 July 2020Verified Purchase
Didn’t seem to have been edited at all. Poorly written, many grammar and spelling mistakes and wrong words used. It was as though it had been written by a 10 year old. There was a lot of repetitive text and unnecessary explaining of things and irrelevant sub plot. Also very unrealistic conversations and ridiculously unbelievable situations. For example, when a character realises their children are in danger from someone but still goes out leaving them in the house with that person. Also characters constantly throughout the book referring to themselves as ‘very rich’.
I read to the end as I kept thinking that a published book could not be that bad and there must surely be a big twist to save the book, but sadly not, I had correctly guessed the predictable ending right back at the beginning. Probably the most oddly written book I’ve read.

Rubbish

Did Cole Baxter actually write this,it’s nothing at all like his usual books, I think I could have written it better and i’m No author, if that had been the first book I had ever read by him it would certainly have been the last, his books do usually keep you in suspense and I have always loved his writing .maybe his children ,if he has any, tried their hand but come on what a load of rubbish this was, would millionaires actually behave like his story portrayed I think not Mr Baxter you need to do better than this one

Good story but not a good read if you find bad grammar annoying
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 July 2020Verified Purchase
Started off as a good read but as the story progressed I became very annoyed with bad grammar and spelling mistakes. Obviously hadn’t been proof read. However I didn’t give up until Cynthia asked somebody a question and Cynthia herself answered. Gave up there and didn’t finish the book.
