This book was a very emotional read for me. I have cried, laughed and cussed, not necessarily in that order either. This is a very heartfelt and heartbreaking read. Lincoln and Jensyn were both dealt bad hands in life. These two are perfect for each other, and let's just say their chemistry is scorching hot. Good thing he is so young, because he is very insatiable but that is a plus for Jensyn. This book will show you love can conquer all no matter what. The ending was epic. I have to say this is a one click author for me, and I must say she definitely sucked me in to this story from page one until the very end. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful 31 March 2017
By Tiffany with Book Relations Book Blog - Published on Amazon.com

Another amazing book from Cory Cyr! Although it is not like her typical books that got me started loving her work, The Perfect 1 is absolutely remarkable in it's own light. Now don't get me wrong, there is plenty of alpha male, dirty sex, and funny quips, but this book held so much more feeling and personality!

You follow the story of two people who are victims of circumstances, who are brought together to kind of help each other find purpose and fill a void, but it turns into so much more. You are able to get an in depth look at the private battles some people are facing and how they have to learn to cope with them and continue their lives. It was truly eye opening for me.

I recommend this book to everyone! Its a beautiful, heart wrenching tale that will keep you up all night turning the pages to find out if Jensyn and Lincolns relationship can withstand the physical and emotion problems they both have. Are they able to over come their demons to find true happiness? Please give this author a chance, I can promise this book will capture you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot, hot must-read with a lot of soul. 1 April 2017
By Marns - Published on Amazon.com

Once again, Cory Cyr has come out with a book that demands to be read. In one sitting. And, as always, time spent reading The Perfect 1 went by too fast. It is funny, cheeky, sexy, and it spoke my language. The conversations between Lincoln and Jensyn were straight up, no beating about the bush there, and there was plenty of heat.

Jensyn Parrish was a Perfect 10 model in a past life, before a texting driver ploughed into her car, the accident which resulted in the damage to her face, effectively ended her career, her confidence and esteemed social status. Everyone in that world ridiculed her, then turned its’ back.

As for Lincoln Bass, a highly successful author and extreme adventurer, fate also kicked him to the curb, leaving him instantly blind as the result of an injury. He has railed at the world for months, ignoring his family, friends and his next book release. His brother has had enough, and asks Jensyn if she would help him with the completion of his book. Having avoided society for 13 years, she figured that as he can’t see the damage to her face, she could cope with his anger at life. What she didn’t count on, is how quickly he would see beneath the facade, into the heart of her.

I love the dark and often cutting edge humour that is a trademark of Cory’s writing, and while there’s plenty of hot action, there is deep soul-searching words that really make you think about life in general, as Lincoln says to Jensyn,
“You’re in deep thought, and judging from the last week, that’s not a good thing. You need to stop feeling with your thoughts and feel with your soul. Don’t be so worried about tomorrow; just be happy for today. What we have now is just the precursor to tomorrow."

Now Lincoln just needs to persuade her that she’s his Perfect 1.

With mind blowing hilarity, entertainment, and a reminder to just love the life that you have, the Perfect 1, has everything you could want in an absolutely 5 star read!

Cory Cyr, your books slay me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Love Story that will Touch your Heart! 2 April 2017
By Lacy - Published on Amazon.com

Jensyn Parrish had it all: a modeling career of epic proportions, looks those who envied her would kill for, and a net worth that would give her the freedom to do anything. That is, until a horrific accident disfigures her at the age of 25. With tragedy comes change and a life she never expected; a life filled with anger, shame, and loneliness. She has hidden herself away from the rest of humankind on an island in Hawaii where no one knows her, or her story. The last she expected was for love to find her or to find it in return when she has remained in seclusion for many years since the accident.
Lincoln Bass is a famed author as well as a hardcore adventurer until an unusual incident leaves him wading through darkness. Unsure of whether or not he will ever see again, he leans on Jensyn in an unexpected twist of fate to help him with his writing career through his potential recovery. While hiding out and attempting to gain some semblance of normality along the way to finish his next novel, he finds solace in Jensyn as a companion. Moreover, he finds himself falling in love with her despite the barriers between them.
Can these two find a way to overcome their fears and triumph over the obstacles that lay ahead? You’ll have to read to find out and let me tell you, it is worth every moment spent doing so! Lincoln is utter perfection in every way. He is a faithful, considerate, and accepting heart full of sugary sweetness with the ego and sexual prowess of an alpha male. I couldn’t get enough of him! Every moment between him and Jensyn had me smiling, laughing, or biting my lip out of sheer enjoyment and desire of my own for the man on the pages. Reading his story and seeing him fall in love was such a treat, and I beamed with happiness as Jensyn gave him hope and love regardless of his disability. She thought her own weaknesses would tear them apart, but instead those issues only gave them a bond of beauty.
For me, being a part of Jensyn’s journey was so wonderful. Being a victim of circumstance and unfortunate experiences thereafter involving spitefulness and hatefulness from outside forces would understandably cause one to become fearful of the future and yet, she rises above it all in the end. Her character is one of courage, of strength; watching her grow and take risks was absolutely breathtaking. Even better, she found the perfect match for her during her journey toward fulfillment and selflessness simultaneously. I can’t even describe the satisfaction I felt when she finally gained self-acceptance and confidence. She is exactly the type of woman that the younger generation should strive to be.
Therefore, this book is everything to me. I love reading a story when it provides a mixture of every emotion to me as the reader. A love story full of heartache, tragedy, acceptance, and love that I couldn’t put down, that I could read more than once. Jensyn and Lincoln will make your heart ache, weep, shudder, and squeeze with each turn of the page. Not only will you fall for the couple, but you’ll love every surprise and every moment they share. Thanks Cory for another fantastic read! Xoxo

3.0 out of 5 stars It's what's inside that matters. 13 April 2017

3.5*

The Perfect 1 is another sexy, older woman/younger man story from Cory Cyr. The overall feel of this book is a little heavier than most of her previous work. Both main characters, Jensyn and Lincoln, are each dealing with some very difficult circumstances in their lives when they are thrown together. Jensyn is still recovering, years later, from a horrific accident that completely changed the course of her life. She's angry, bitter, and resentful. Lincoln's situation is more recent, but no less challenging. Although devastated by what happened, he seems to be dealing with things and more accepting of the outcome of his accident, after just a few months, than Jensyn is after 13 years...especially once she enters his life.

Lincoln is one confident, cocky, arrogant sob. He's gorgeous, has a great body, and the attitude to go along with it. While his sudden blindness has definitely hindered his adventurous ways, he's slowly coming to terms with the fact it just might be permanent, and the one thing, the one person, helping him accept that, is Jensyn. At first her presence was unwelcome, but he quickly realizes how much she's come to mean to him, even as she does her best to keep him at arm's length.

Honestly, Jensyn isn't the most pleasant of characters. She's probably, for me, the least likable out of all Cory Cyr's female leads. I had to remind myself multiple times while reading this book that she did, in fact, have reason to be so angry and bitter, she was that tough to empathsize with. She's very resentful of the hand life has dealt her, and while I understood why, I still had a hard time with how she treated Lincoln and her constantly feeling sorry for herself. Granted, I've never been in a situation like hers, and with her background I'd probably have holed myself away from society like she did. But I would have hoped, after all that time, someone in her life would have tried to reach out and bring her back to the land of living- made her see that her looks didn't define who she was. It's a sad that she didn't seem to have anyone that liked her for who she was, and not what she looked like.

Even with my frustrations with Jensyn, I enjoyed the underlining theme of this story. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. And what's inside is more important than a pretty face. Lincoln was very direct and honest with Jensyn right from the start- what she looked like wasn't going to matter to him. He fell in love with the person she was, without ever needing to see her. It took her some time, but Jensyn was finally able to accept the fact that he truly did love her, scars, flaws, and all.
I wish more of the story had been told in Lincoln's pov- I think it would have helped to see Jensyn in a different light.
