5.0 out of 5 stars Pelé - FIFA Player of the Century
Reviewed in the United States on 12 November 2020
Pelé is the greatest Brazilian soccer player in the world. Pelé is an all-time top scorer and even holds a Guinness World Record. In 1999, Pelé was elected Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee and was included in the TIME list of the 100 most important people of the 20th century. Yes! He was that good! Pelé began playing football (what Americans refer to as soccer) at the age of 15. At 16, he was playing on Brazil's national team. Pelé led his team to three FIFA World Cups: 1958, 1960, and 1962.

If you were a kid in the '70s like me, you knew who Pelé was. He was an international star and one of the greatest athletes to ever live. Sharing this legendary sports figure with the young soccer players in my life has been so much fun. The Little People, BIG DREAMS series introduces children to iconic figures from today and the past. It allows kids to see that every hero was once a child with a dream. These wonderful biography books teach our Littles that anyone is capable of dreaming big, setting goals, and succeeding no matter what! Readers are introduced to the real-life icon through actual photos at the end of the book. Easy to comprehend through an illustrated biographical story. As a children's book collector, I adore these books. They're great!
