I was looking for a running shorts and was hoping to find a 2-1 type. This short fit just right for me and it light with 2.5 pockets and a phone X (however, you have to take your out of your case since it super snug.) there is a small side pocket with zipper for i guess keys and a energy bar holder in the back but not sure how the two band in the back would hold it in.
Please Peak Velocity; make the phone holder pocket 20% bigger. It would be an awesome running short if you do.
Peak velocity is an amazon private brand. As I hadn’t tried out the apparel in retail outlets I was apprehensive about the overall fit and quality. I shouldn’t have worked. The shorts were very high quality, almost technical features like safe, deep side pockets, inner pockets, inner thigh support and all. The overall feel is very good too. I go out for long runs in this short and don’t feel chaffed. If I were to nitpick, I would ask for better waist draw strings / lace. They aren’t bad but could be better.
I have been running for years and these shorts have been so far great. These shorts have compression tights inside, some people do not like that but it help me as it prevents the thighs from rubbing each other. Very good material and it has been holding well so far. The one I got in black is a little off color, I wish it were darker so it would combine easier with my running T-shirts. The side pockets are Ok but I do not use them, hard to run with something there. There is a small pocket for the phone but unless you have a small size like iPhone 5S or something like that, it will not fit well. I put my driver’s license and a credit card there. That is something that can be fix on the next generation! Get your next size up if you have muscular thighs...
Like others, a little apprehensive of the brand around sizing/fit and quality as I had never worn them before. Those concerns were quickly put aside as they turned out to be a great short that is very comparable to other name brands like Nike.
I ordered the same size of short that I have in the past for basketball and cross training, and while a little snugger than those free flowing (as expected) the stretch in both the liner and short itself made for easy movement and great comfort all around. I’ve used these to work out in as well as lounging around the house and suited for both. I wouldn’t hesitate to wear to the beach or pool either, as the lightweight and material would dry quickly in the sun or breeze.
Only major complaint is the “secret” pocket in the leg liner is much too small to hold most smartphones today. Maybe a flip phone would fit, but trying to get an iPhone in nearly ripped the stitching. The drawstring feels a little on the thin side, but still holds them up all day long.
All in all, a solid option to the other higher priced name brands.
I bought these when they were $20 and I could live with the weird pockets.
Fit is good and the liner is medium. Not compression, but not baggy.
Liner pocket is too small for phone. Good for credit card or money and the back pocket is only big enough for a key fob. Front pockets not suitable for running, the stuff will fall out. If you are active after your run, you could carry keys wallet and phone in these pockets.
I will admit the drawstring is a little weird, but no different than a pair of Brooks that I have...
Dries quick and the grey pattern is subtle and could be worn as regular shorts.
Still cheaper than other name brand 2-in-1 shorts.
Not the worst pair of running shorts ever. The phone pouch on the lining was way too small to hold my iPhone 11, though. So I ran with the phone in the pocket, which left it free to flop around wildly as I ran. Not the most comfortable sensation. The shorts themselves are a decent fit, lightweight, and comfortable. I will just have to find an armband or something for my phone.
There is something wrong with the lining and the shorts. The lining constantly pulls the back of the shorts down while your walking making for an awkward situation after about six steps. Constantly having to pull the back up over your butt. The material and seams are also subpar and feel like your wearing tissue paper and the seams were already coming out when I opened the package. I would return them if I had not already worn them on a run.
These shorts are a great alternative to the more expensive shorts from companies like Lululemon. The material and build isn't up to par with the more expensive pairs, but it is a welcome tradeoff for the price. The only issues I can across were the string broke the first time I wore them, and the liner rides up a bit during workouts. Would still recommend.
Good shorts for a good price, but they have a design flaw. After the 3rd or 4th wear - the drawstring broke. The draw string is really made of up 2 seperate strings that are sewn in the back versus a single pull through string that could be replaces easily.
At least in the size small, the cell phone pocket is nowhere near large enough for a normal-size smart phone (iPhone 8 or 12), forget about if you have a case on it; might be different if you have a “mini”, but it would still be a tough fit. I end up using it to stash my keys on a run/ride, which is fine.
