First off, you only get one car: Chase with his police car. You also get Marshall, but without his car. For this price point, I expected more cars.
Second, for as big as this toy is, only one kid can play with it at a time. Really, the only thing you can do with this toy is push figures up the tower elevator (which IS legitimately fun), slide cars down the very short (and abruptly ending) slide, or twirl the bottom platform where the cars would go. But all that happens from the same spot, so my kids just end up fighting over who gets to be in that prime sitting position.
Third, though I can tell the designers of this toy spent a lot of time making sure the tower elevator and the bottom spinning car platform move so smoothly--which I can definitely appreciate--the toy still just isn't that much...fun. I feel like Tom Hanks in Big when he raises his hand in the meeting about the toy building and says, "I don't get it." Because for all the work that went into designing this toy (which the price reflects), it doesn't offer much in the way of fun play.
I know I'm in the minority on this one, but this toy just didn't wow me or my kids.
BUT... This thing is so crappily made. Several of the pieces don't really fit together just right, and keep popping apart. The instruction manual was a confusing mess of terrible drawings. But you kinda need to consult it, because if you pop just one thing together in the wrong order it's damn near impossible to take it apart and fix it. Ironically, things DO fall off when you don't want them to. This leads to a lot of crying because the top "lookout" part keeps flopping off during playtime.
FYI, Toy Makers, I'd be willing to pay more for a toy that I don't have to assemble. Call it the Single Mom Special, or Sane Person Promotion, or whatever. I just want to live my life in peace.
I actually gave up on assembling it, and my four year old genius did it herself by recalling a youtube video she watched. Yes, she watches videos on toy assembly and then asks for those toys and then assembles them. She's weird.
And it should really come with all the cars, for this price.
Elevator door spring is not "staying in place" and comes apart when the rod falls down/off See images here attached
there is a spring, and a rod to keep the door in place.
well the spring has to stay in place; meaning there is a slot on the door edge and there is a hole on the tower itself in witch the spring latches to make the door close and stay in place.
The spring also supposedly keep the rod tighten so it won't slide off downward.
as you see on the pic here attached the rod falls downward causing the door to come apart.
