1.0 out of 5 stars 64GB 3600 Kit doesn't run at advertised speed - Avoid
By HD on 22 June 2021
Purchased the 64Gb (2x32Gb) 3600 kit.

Setup is Ryzen 5950X on MSI X570 Tomahawk.

- Installed the RAM. Booted up fine on default speeds (2666MHz)
- Turned on XMP Profile (3600 18-20-20-40) . Wouldn't post.
- Contacted Patriot Support.
- Confirmed CPU, BIOS version and correct RAM slots being used.
- Was advised to try some different timings, speeds and voltage and reply with results.
- Couldn't run stable anywhere close to 3600.
- Was then advised they were already aware of this problem ("Ryzen is currently having difficulties hitting 3600MHz on 32GB+. We are working with them to help resolve this issue"). Total BS as there are other 3600 64GB kits out there that run fine. Especially when there is zero mention anywhere on their website of this issue.
- Upon further research, I found this isn't an uncommon issue with this set of RAM (and other kits in general of lower size like the 4000+ ones).
- Was offered an RMA to swap sets to an identical kit (even though they admitted it won't work?) by sending the kit back, having it processed, and a new kit sent out. As this was my WFH PC, they wouldn't send me the replacement kit first so PC downtime was not a viable option.
- Was denied the option of a refund when I raised it with them.
- Raised it with Amazon and refund was issued.
- Purchased a Crucial 64GB 3600 kit (BL2K32G36C16U4B) : https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B083TSLC72
- Installed it. Activated XMP. No issues.
- Posted the Patriot RAM back to Amazon.

The support messages are in the attached image. Make of it what you will.

Pay a little bit more and get RAM that actually works at the advertised speeds.

Consider Patriot a budget tier brand.

Kudos to Amazon Support for being extremely smooth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely amazing DDR4 RAM and perfect compatability!
By Franci J on 23 August 2021
I've been using GSkill RAM for the past 5 years but with my recent upgrade to an AMD Ryzen 5800x + Asus B550-F WiFi motherboard, i ventured to Patriot as the prices (and overall reviews) were really excellent for this 4000 Mhz set. On top of this my motherboard had this part listed on the QVL list as well.

Since i was upgrading from my earlier 2400 Mhz GSkill RAM which i had fine tuned, i first went into BIOS and reset settings to "optimized defaults". Then i took out the old RAM, inserted the new one and it booted into Windows perfectly fine. Checked the capacity and speed in task manager and it showed the default settings at 16 GB with 2133 Mhz. I then restarted and went into BIOS and enabled XMP (known as DOCP on Asus boards) and the setting for 4000 Mhz with 19-19-19-39 appeared in the drop down menu. Saved BIOS settings and rebooted into Windows without any issues at all. Ran AIDA64 and I've attached a screenshot to see the performance parameters.

Played RDR2 and Doom2 for a good 2 hours to test for any instability. Stress tested the RAM with AIDA64 for 1 hour as well and everything is just great!

I'll soon be ordering a second kit to add onto this and make it a total of 32 GB RAM. I'll update the review next month but for now: Excellent RAM - no doubt about it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great memory for low price
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 December 2020
I got two sets of them. XMP working with no problems. I was able to lower timings to CL18 18 18 36 2T 680 on all 4 sticks. On better motherboard those sticks should get better timings and higher OC. I have Gigabyte Z390 Aorus PRO WiFi and one set working only on XMP profile 2 @3866Mhz with some manual timings tweak). Two sets working fine. if someone don't like using XMP they working with manual OC 4000Mhz CL18 18 18 36 680 2T with no issues as well.
Small update: after some more tweak all 4 modules run at 4000Mhz CL16 16 16 30 285 2T @ 1.45V

1.0 out of 5 stars AMD Users Beware
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 July 2021
When i bought these rams (2X16GB C18 PVB432G360C8K) I had an Intel CPU and everything worked as expected. Just selecting XMP profile 1 got me to the rated 3600MHz.

I recently switched to Ryzen X5800 and Aorus X570 mobo and the nightmare begin...

Turns out, XMP profile of these doesn't work with my mobo. It just crashes at post. I figured I'd manually overclock them. Thing is, getting the DRAM voltage to anything higher than 1.270V also instantly crashes which is weird as these rams should be able to go up to 1.5V...

Turns out, they use Samsung M-die modules. And m-die is unlike any other out there... Normally, if your RAM can get to 3200Mhz at 1.3V, you'd assume to get to 3.6 Ghz, you'd have to increase the DRAM voltage to 1.4V+. Not with these... You have to go down to 1.27V.

This is so counterintuitive, it didn't even occur to me to test that. Spent 2 days trying to get them to 3600 with manual OC. Finally managed to do it and they seem stable. Here are my timings if you for whatever reason have to get these to work on an AMD system.

DRAM FREQ: 3600Mhz (or 1800 in some mobos)
DRAM Voltage: 1.270V
Timings: See the screenshot

Conclusion: If you're on Intel CPU, these RAMs are definitely good value. If you're on AMD, do yourself a favour and check your mobo's compatibility list and pick something that's confirmed to work.

PS: Oh, Samsung M-Dies are also quite susceptible to heat. I'd recommend having one or more case fans blow air directly on top of these rams.

PS2: Nevermind they don't run reliably at 3600Mhz. Memtest5 runs for hours but AIDATA's memory benchmark crashes under 5 minutes. I ended up giving these rams to a friend and buying Crucial Ballistix 4000Mhz 36GB kits. Their XMP works out of the box.
