This story has everything we found in the old west; and more....Reviewed in the United States on 12 January 2017
Because I'm a fan of historical westerns and the face on the cover of this book, I snapped it up. I'm so glad I did! This story opens all sorts of thoughts in my head because 1883 had the same problems and situations in many lives as we have today. This is the story of people of mixed blood banding together to make a life, build families, become part of a community and yet fight off those who want to take away their land. Patience is a gal whose grandparents were Cherokee and Black. Justice, her brother, had arranged a marriage with Tomas, a leather crafter, in Dodge City, Kansas. Tomas himself was a mixture of Cheyenne and Mexican. They were perfect for each other but it took this story to bring them together. I want to thank the author for giving the history of the events in this book. We hear so much about Sand Creek Massacre in 1864, but to be able to incorporate some events into this book, brought the story along with the tragedy into this storyline. We, as Americans, have so much to apologize for when we read about terrible atrocities in our history, yet we personally didn't do any of it. I enjoyed the book.

This is a fast moving story. There was rarely a lull in the te!ling. I love mail order bride stories and especially those that have no cursing. This is a Good and entertaining book.
Short and sweetReviewed in the United States on 19 August 2017
Have not read the other books in this series, but am now intrigued to do so. The trials of the people are real, and the emotion feels genuine.
