Such an amazing story. Took me on a terrifying but so well written adventure. Love, loss, tradegy, heartache, hope & everything in-between. One of the greatest books I've ever read without doubt. Unbelievable this is the author first book. It will not be the last.
If you haven't read this book you are missing out on such a well crafted tale you should rectify this immediately. From start to finish I was totally hooked. The only problem is I missed out on "normal" life while reading about Abigail Boone. I just could not put the book down.
I will be reading this again on my holiday in a couple weeks time, see if I missed any clues first time round.
Such a great book

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Not much to like about this book

Really didn't like any of the characters in the book and seems the author looked up clever words to put into the novel. And at the end, nothing really happened. We never did find out how she ended up where she was when the book started and what was so traumatic to make her lose her memory. Got to the end and wondered why I bothered....

A must read crime thriller

Past Life is pacy, brutal, witty, heart-felt and intricately crafted. Boone isn't your stereo-typical kick-ass female investigator (although she does kick and get kicked) but rather a character with complexities and contradictions and hard as well as soft edges. By the end of the story, I felt like she was a "messed-up friend" who I desperate wanted to save from herself. A storyline about the trafficking of women and children into the sex trade details its barbarity, but is presented with great empathy and, to my relief, no hint of the usual voyeurism. The second instalment of Boone's story calls, but I may need to steel myself...
