Product Description

When Trevor Cassidy steps foot on a bus to "Nowhere," Tennessee, he boards with a singular purpose: to leave the life he led behind.

A desolate girl on the ride catches his eye, but he wants almost nothing to do with the ten-foot invisible wall that she's built around herself.

But when calamity strikes deep inside the Tennessee forest, Trevor and the lonely girl, Kat, must learn to trust each other if they want to make it back to civilization intact.

Breaking down Kat's walls will prove to be the hardest thing Trevor's ever done, and on top of that...she's hiding something: something that may threaten their very existence, their dwindling survival.

But how does Trevor uncover Kat's hidden agenda without bringing his own to light?

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it the story was completely absorbing 3 September 2015
By Books Laid Bare - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
You will require surgical attention to have your kindle detached from your hands at the end of this because there is absolutely no way you will be able to put it down, from start to finish I was absorbed, completely engulfed by the story and not only that the way in which the story was told. This author has a beautiful way of getting her thoughts and feeling across and an exquisite way of allowing her characters the room to breathe, to stretch and to unravel before your very eyes.
This is a book that will keep you guessing for much of the time but it will also sweep you away with it complexity. It was intimately passionate but it had a sub current of lies that made me a more than a little uneasy.
There is nothing like a kick ass fib to get the old grey matter ticking!
What is it with Tennessee that had both the main characters heading that direction?
Kat was interesting, she was on the run that much was obvious but from what was a closely guarded secret, she wasn’t willing to give details but whatever it was it had to be something huge because she gave off an air of determination and fortitude that I found it hard to decipher what could have possibly had her so lost.
Trevor (aka Zeus) was also on the move and again much like Kat he too had me puzzled. He was such a strong man that I was confused as to what the heck could have happened to force him to up sticks and take off. He was playing his cards very close to his chest but when he ends up on the same coach as Kat, he can’t help but take a shine to the blue eyed beauty, even though he knows full well it is a bad idea.
So when Fate dishes up the biggest bum rap, it means that the two of them are stranded, together and alone and in the middle of nowhere and suddenly Tennessee is a very daunting prospect.
With only each other to rely upon, it was a shame that they didn’t really get on, or was that all a front because while they continued to play silly games and to hide not only their past but their feelings?
Could they keep what they each were feeling contained, could they survive their predicament? Would they let each other in and open up about what was going on in their lives?
There were so many questions that the story was one long conundrum.
The book was skilfully written with a sympathetic attention to details and a flourish of descriptive tones that left nothing out. The author painted an elaborate plot and pieced it together beautifully and methodically for the reader along the way.
I loved the way all the pieces were meticulously dropped into place, it was addictive!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another outstanding tale by Natalie Wrye! 30 August 2015
By mceeh - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
***This is a review for an ARC provided by the author***

Natalie E. Wrye has done it again! This is the third novel I've read from this author and her writing style just seems to get better with each book. Natalie has a wonderful way of combining different, seemingly unrelated elements, and weaving them into a cohesive tale that works. This book is part romance, part erotica, part adventure, part mystery, part humor, part heartbreak... and it all works together gloriously! One of the things that I love about Natalie's writing is that you never, ever quite have the story figured out. The intrigue and mystery will keep you turning the pages until the very end!

Strangers Kat and Trevor, through a series of unfortunate circumstances, end up lost in the middle of a forest in Tennessee. Each needs the other in order to survive, as they wend their way through the dense landscape. There are twists and turns, both literal and figurative, all along the way and they must learn to communicate with one another and break down each other's walls. In so doing, truths are discovered, secrets revealed, and sparks ignited. Do Kat and Trevor have what it takes to survive? You'll have to read to find out!

I've enjoyed every book Natalie has written and look forward to reading anything she writes in the future. She has a way with prose that sings to my heart and I found myself highlighting several passages, many of which gave me cause for introspection and made me think about my own future. To give you an example of her beautiful writing, here are just a couple of non-spoilery, beautiful quotes (though the book is littered with them!)

"A church-like cloak has fallen, covering us with a confessional-like silence that fills the air."

"The springtime temperature doesn't just slip quietly into an autumn range; it takes a running slide right into winter within the span of a few hours."

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome & Unique 29 August 2015
By Sandra Two Book Pushers - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
4.5

I read Natalie's Blindfold series and thought it was a great debut series so I just had to read Forbidden Paradise and I am so glad I did. It is unique and the twists got me good.

Kat and Trevor have a chance encounter on a bus to Tennessee, he sees many things in her icy stare including intrigue, fear, coldness and strength. He also sees that she is hiding a softness under her stare but doesn't want to scare her. He just wants to make sure she is safe on this long ride...

Well...their destination has changed and not in a good way and now they are in the middle of bum-fuck land in the pouring rain and no shelter. Luckily, they managed to keep their bags with them because they are going to need them to survive the forest in the middle of Tennessee.

Kat and Trevor don't exactly hit it off right away for unknown reasons but they need one another to get through this hell and back to civilization. Kat doesn't trust easily so she is building a wall around herself and Trevor wants to break it down a little so they can at least be civil. The thing is, Kat is attracted to him but fighting it but Trevor is doing the same thing. This is not the time for romance.

Kat and Trevor finally find solid ground and fall into a routine but there is still something between them. They are holding onto secrets, ones that they are not willing to share. Why was Trevor on that bus? What is Kat running from or to? Will they break down each other's barriers to find out?

Kat and Trevor grew on me. Kat seemed so bitchy but while reading you find out why she is the way she is. I mean, I sure wouldn't be happy if I went through what she did and then found myself having to try to survive anymore, especially without running water. Ha. But she does have a hottie helping her along the way. And Trevor is no picnic either but he does want Kat to be safe. But their chemistry and banter works on their side for sure.

I do love a good twist and this one got me. Overall...the book is unique, I wanted to slap Kat more than once and I did tear up. There is a sneak peek to the spin off and I think it will be pretty awesome and hot.

Quotes:

It’s not my job to solve her, but I will do my best to save her. Save us.

Kat is a work of art that even a blind man could see.

I’ve got no bark left, no bite. I’m as gentle as a kitten, and all I want is for Trevor to make me purr.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! I absolutely loved Paradise Forbidden!!! 29 August 2015
By Lisa Rae Daniels - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Natalie E. Wryes' "Paradise Forbidden" will keep you glued to your Kindle! It is a unique, but beautiful story filled with passion, suspense, and deceit. It was definitely a story that kept me on my toes and guessing the entire time.

Katarina 'Kat' Lexington, with her icy blue eyes, seems strong-willed but untrusting. She seems lost and secretive. She's running away from something to Tennessee but, running away from what?

Trevor 'Zeus' Cassidy is also fleeing, but why is he running to Tennessee? He seems defensive, strong, and careful to not reveal much about himself. When he winds up on the same bus as Kat, he finds himself attracted to her, even though, he doesn't want to be.

A twist in fate, leaves them lost, alone, and fending for themselves in the vast woods of Tennessee. They can barely stand each other and it complicates everything. It complicated things because during their impossible journey, they are hiding from each other. Both, keeping truths locked away and feeding one another lies. They are also fighting battles within themselves to not 'act' on the constant urges they both feel.

Can they continue to resist each other? Will they survive the journey and find what they are both looking for? Will Kat find her spark, once again?

I highly recommend "Paradise Forbidden". It was romantic, funny, sexy, and full of mystery. I couldn't put it down for the simple fact that I wanted to see if Trevor and Kat ended up together. Props to Natalie E. Wrye for writing an amazing book.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books I've read this year. So excited to have found a new favorite author! 29 August 2015
By Savannah H. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This book had me smiling, giggling, heart-pounding, pulse-racing... I had chills for most of this book. I did get a little teary-eyed at parts too! It was like an adrenaline ride, the mystery of it all and the INTENSE romantic tension. You could cut it with a knife. Kat and her man had me biting my nails through most of this book. And the sensual scenes were very very sexy, especially because they didn't feel like 'just another love scene', I really cared about the characters and was rooting for them! Their personalities were so 3 dimensional and well-written. I felt like I could see the story clear as crystal and I was riveted by it! And the mannn candyyy oh my goodness! He is so alpha and protective and so incredibly sweet and charming and stubborn at the same time. I totally fell for him. He certainly met his perfect match with Kat. 5 well-deserved stars from me, this author has become a new favorite.
