Product Description

After her former boyfriend left her pregnant and alone, Megan McKenzie swore off men. She spent the last eighteen months focused solely on her son, Mason, along with finishing nursing school at the top of her class. Although she’s not ready to complicate her life with a long-term relationship, a nice no-strings attached hook-up is just what she needs. At her godson, Noah’s, baptism, she finds the perfect candidate in the soft-spoken godfather, Pesh Nadeen. After all, the widower could use a good time too. But after drinking too much, the night doesn’t end the way she thought it would. Forced to leave Pesh’s house through a walk of shame, Megan hopes to never, ever see him again.

For Pesh Nadeen, the very sight of Megan sends him into an emotional tailspin. Since she reminds him too much of what he has lost, he wants to be out of her sight…at first. But the more he gets to know her, there's something about the diminutive blonde that causes his protective side to go into overdrive, and he finds himself wanting more. When Megan is assigned to work in his ER to complete her nursing clinicals, he sees it as fate, but she’s having no part of it. She only wants a physical relationship while he wants far more.

What happens next is a sexy game of cat and mouse to see who will break first or if both of them will eventually get more than they ever bargained for.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This was a perfect accompaniment and an adorable ending to the Proposition series. Please read The Proposition and The Proposal first before going onto The Pairing.

The main characters in The Pairing are Pesh - or Doctor McDreamy Bollywood - and Megan who is Aidan's niece. Aidan is met in the first two books of the series alongside Emma and their story is spread out over those two novels.

Megan has not had the easiest of love lives. She has had her confidence and self esteem in the relationship sense knocked about. But she has the best gift of all from all of her love woes - her son, Mason.

Pesh had the love of his life ripped away from him suddenly at such a young age and has found it difficult to let his wife and love for her go and move on despite his family's attempts at persuading him otherwise.

I fell in love with both Megan's sassy attitude and her blatant love and loyalty towards her son and extended family. I saw Pesh's anguish and instantly wanted to be the one to take it away and make his life whole again. Katie Ashley's writing is so addictive and I can't help but block out hours at a time because I do not and can not put her books down. The Pairing was no exception.

Pesh, the seemingly perfect gentlemen, emerges once he breaks through Megan's tough barriers. And he ain't no gentleman! He's an all-rounder! The perfect man in a sexy package!

"If I take you, I'll be making love to you. I'll have you begging and pleading, but you'll be coming so many times you'll lose count. You'll understand the difference between a quick tumble and the all-consuming power of a physical connection fueled by an emotional one."

Following on from the first two books, but as a different couple this book was fantastic! A little love, angst, steamy scenes, with a bit of humour thrown in... And a follow up story from the first two books... What more could you ask for!! Need to read it series order... Highly recommend these to anyone following on from FSOG although not quite so steamy still very raunchy and romantic! Loved the whole series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pesh and Megan are a perfect match! 19 February 2014
By The Fairest of All Book Reviews - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Emma and Aidan's story in Katie Ashley's Proposition series is one of my favorites. It is a realistic look at what matters most to people and what people are willing to do to get the life they want. When Pesh Nadeen enters the picture in The Proposal, I admit, I almost wanted Katie to throw readers for a loop and put them together for longer than she does. But Pesh wasn't Emma's perfect match. Emma's heart was always with Aidan, and Pesh couldn't take Aidan's place, nor did he want to because the loss of his wife was still so raw.

When I read that Pesh was getting his own story, and he was going to be matched up with Aidan's feisty niece Megan, I didn't quite see how that would work...Megan is much younger than Pesh, and she may be even feistier than Emma, but I still went into The Pairing with an open mind because I trusted that Katie Ashley would make me see their pairing, and boy did she!!!

When Megan and Pesh meet at Noah's baptism, Megan's not looking for a relationship...she's been there done that and suffered the consequences. Yes, she has her beautiful son, Mason, due to one of those relationships, but she doesn't want to be burned again. She wants to have fun and let loose a little bit without worrying about taking anything further. Pesh is at a much different stage in his life; after losing his wife nearly two years ago, he is looking to find love again; he wants a wife and a family, so when Megan offers sex without strings, he doesn't take her up on her offer because he wants more. They go their separate ways after the night of the baptism and spend two months living their lives. But fate intervenes and Megan winds up completing her nursing clinical component at Pesh's hospital in the ER where Pesh is the supervisor.

Now that they see one another every day, Dr. McDreamy Bollywood plans to wear Megan down and show her how fantastic they can be together. What starts out as sex has the potential to turn into everything that Megan wants in a relationship, but is she brave enough to risk another broken heart?

The Pairing is a fantastic contemporary romance story. Pesh is an amazing hero who knows when/how to be a gentleman as well as a hot alpha male. The chemistry between Pesh and Megan is electric, and the sex scenes are panty melting. What totally secured Pesh as one of my top book boyfriends is how he is with Megan's son, Mason. He understands that Megan and Mason are a packaged deal, and he goes out of his way to get to know him and form a bond with Mason. Catching up with Aidan and Emma and their growing family is another aspect of the book that works well. I love it when authors give their readers a glimpse into how everything is going with their past couples; it shows that they understand how much their readers want that connection, and Katie Ashley does it with ease.

Katie Ashley is definitely one of my go to authors for a well written, character driven story that has off the charts sex appeal as well as a plotline that delves deep into why people are they way they are....what events form them and how they can move past their issues and have a great life.

3.0 out of 5 stars This one just didn't hit the mark for me... 23 February 2014

I really really like this series so when I saw that this one was coming out, I was pretty excited about it. I honestly didn't see it coming, but I thought pairing Megan and Pesh was a great idea. Unfortunately, the story line just fell a little flat to me. (I understand I seem to be in the minority here). I thought the beginning of the book was great, but I kept waiting for some type of excitement or conflict or something, some twist to make the story really interesting. I thought maybe something would come up with the other nurse, or something dramatic would happen with Pesh's brother and the jewels, just something, but it never came. I think this story had the potential to be really interesting, but I just didn't find it to be so. The only conflict was Megan's idea that she didn't want anything serious. She got over that really really quickly, and it seemed like the last 50% of the book read like a really really long epilogue. I guess the story was still cute, which is why I gave it at least 3 stars, but unfortunately, It's going into my kindle's 'Don't Read Again' folder.

5.0 out of 5 stars As soon as I finished The Pairing, I hugged my Kindle 22 April 2014

I loved The Proposition Series by Katie Ashley. It's one of those feel-good series that keep you grinning and smiling the whole time. Alpesh "Pesh" Nadeen was in The Proposal, but I was never crazy about him, especially because he kind of came between my favorite couple a little bit. Then when he had a guest appearance in Beat of The Heart, I warmed up to him a bit. In The Pairing, I fell in love with this gentleman Doctor.

•I honestly never even noticed it was third person until I started writing this review. It's rare that I love a 3rd person book.
•Emma and Aiden were in this book a lot.
•Pesh still stayed true to his Indian culture.
•Pesh was just so perfect ~swoon~.
•The couple got to know each other, and we were able to read about it.
•How great Pesh was with Mason.
•I love how much the kids, especially Mason were so important in the book.
•Pretty much an angst-free book.
•A little crossover from Beat of the Heart.
•Cried the happy tears.

•The kids' behavior and talking was well beyond the ages they were supposed to be.
•Pesh blushed just a bit too much for me...though it was endearing at first, there was a little too much of it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Buying the Romance 22 February 2014

Megan and Pesh are Godparents together and instantly attracted. OK. Megan only wants hot sex and Pesh wants a relationship. OK. So they decide to part ways because they want different things. OK, still feeling it. What I don't get is that Pesh continually tries to get Megan to spend time with him and Megan is continually saying "no, I only want sex". I understand why she was saying it,but she came across so mean and trashy. Pesh was appealing and likeable. However, I didn't understand why he would continually go back to Megan. He's an attractive guy with many admirers but he doesn't want them or casual sex. Well then why would he want Megan who says that all she wants.

While I like Pesh and Megan's story it was very surface leave. I knew the pain Pesh experienced but it didn't come across as a big issue. At first glance I though Megan's issues were going to real problems that could cause tons of drama but frankly it never happened. The Pairing is a sweet story about a dr and a new nurse who find happiness with each other. Best to read after the runaway train series and the proposition series.
