This is a great novella, brutal but good. However, it does not fit into the series as book 3, it should be a prequel at 0.5 or book 1 because it is set before (way before) books 1 and 2 so it is totally confusing to suddenly shoot back 8 or 10 years when you reach book 3. It is also a complete cliff hanger, not just an introduction to Mac and Hud, but it cuts you off without giving the details of the agreement and Mac makes the most abrupt bizarre demands. Whilst I knew we were not going to get their full story or even a happy for now, I didn't expect to be left totally in the dark either, so a little frustrated. I really liked both Hud and Mac for most of the book, their love is such a sweet, pure love, a teen love. But I really dislike Mac and her final actions and demands, she is selfish and completely ridiculous, how she thinks that her actions are going to keep Hud safer is totally beyond me, I also get the impression she is totally going to spin this that he broke her heart and left her....which just winds me up as this was her decision...if that is her spin I am not sure I want to read book 4 which is the rest of their story.

This book left me frustrated, in the best way. This is a prequel to Mac and Hudson’s story and I am heartbroken for her. I can’t wait for the full book to come out so that Mac can finally get her hea, but I envisage more heartache along the way. Mac is my favourite of the four sisters and I can’t wait to find out how Hudson is going to win her back.
