The last thing Neal remembers was being in his plane as it was engulfed by a strange fog. He and his copilot had sent off a mayday and then Neil is finding himself awakened by Ainslee in 1803. Meeting her has set in motion a chain of events that will alter their future forever. Neal has to face the fact that he can fall in love and what it means to loose what you value the most. Jackie Ivie has woven a tale of time travel, love, treachery and mystery together that held me captive. Penetrate has vivid descriptions and characters that play across the mind like a full blown movie.

Wow! Just finished "Penetrate", Jackie Ivie's lastest. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed ALL her VAL books; every single one. However, I often wished the books were a little longer and more fleshed out (didn't detract from my enjoyment of them, thoughr).Penetrate did all I wanted and then some (as Neal would say). DELIGHTFUL book!!! Could not put it down until I'd read the entire story (made for a very late night). Although it's the first of a new series, the book seemed to wrap up all loose ends. So it will be really interesting who her next book targets: someone new to the story or an already introduced character. Can't wait to find out!! Please, Jackie, WRITE FAST!!!
Leave it to Jackie Ivie to put a new twist on time travel. I'd be rude if I explained how, but check it out and remark 'oh, my; how clever' yourself. Of course, like all her books, this one is well-researched and you can bet that historical info is correct and also colorful. Intrigue, suspense, passion, and a surprise or three. I read this book before the others in the series. You can start anywhere with The Portals of Time books; they're all great and stand alone stories. Just pick your favorite era and place. This one is 1803 UK.
