Product Description

Haleigh knows nothing of love. Raised to be no more than the ballerina her mother could never be, she eats, sleeps, and breathes dance. Then, when she is blindsided by the news that her parents have arranged for her to be married, she does as she has always done—exactly as she is told. However, despite the fact that the man she is to call her husband is a complete stranger, Haleigh cannot help but hope that maybe, just maybe, she will finally get the chance to know love.

Maxim is not a good man. His strength is foreboding and his handsome features are merely a distraction for the dangerous person that lies beneath. When he collects a debt by way of a beautiful, ballerina bride, he relishes in the fact that he owns something so pure, so innocent—so undeniably his. Yet, Haleigh is better than he ever expected, and it is not long before his ownership begins to turn into something much, much more.

But when the darkness of Maxim’s past comes back to haunt him, the illusion of love’s safety is shattered. Maxim’s demons seek to destroy everything he holds dear. Suddenly, being owned by the badman is worse than Haleigh imagined. In order to protect her, Maxim has to decide just how bad he can be, and if letting go is the best choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE to read about a 'bad boy' yet SOOO 'HOT!!' MUST READ! 2 November 2016

Haleigh Stockhardt 21 yrs.. lives at home.. does exactly what her parents tell her.. she is obedient, innocent, (never gone out on dates, not even a kiss from a boy. No friends) She only knows 'ballet!' (Which by the way, even there she is an 'outcast and they make fun of her.) Her parents are mentally, physically and emotionally cruel !' Ones day she finds out - they have arranged for her to be married (she not only has never met the man, nor knows his name.) They were to meet before the wedding yet it doesn't work out.. The day of her wedding, she has NO brides maid, friends, ect.. she meets her gorgeous husband, Maxium Lasovska (Russian) at the alter) little does she know, her parents sold their daughter to him as 'repayment for their debt' (this book begins and draws you in from the ch 1 ) and it doesn't STOP !! I do not want to give anymore away.. Haleigh has NO idea what her 'new husband does for a living... she just hopes to one day find love between each other... this book has so much in it from obviously purchasing a bride (for a debt to the Russian maffia), secrets, lies, HOT sex scenes, (hidden childhood life, that comes back to haunt them ), this is romance, thriller, dark, angst, drama at its finest, people who aren't who they appear to be (read to figure that out.. ugh ) this book will leave you wanting more, yet trying to figure out the 'end game and ALL THE PLAYERS.. NOT TO MENTION "WHY??""" CAN'T wait for the next books in series... Haleigh goes from 'timid and shy to one of the strongest 'h' i just grew to LOVE her character and her strength!!! Love this book!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A dark and twisty love story that I couldn't put down! 1 February 2016

Owned by the Badman is a dark, twisted, and beautiful romance!

Maxim has bought Haleigh from her parents to pay back a debt, and is set to marry her. Haleigh is a prima ballerina, and knows nothing except for ballet, she has no friends, her family treats her horribly, and as much as she wants to hate the idea of being in an arranged marriage, she's excited about the possibility of living her life.

When Maxim and Haleigh meet the first time, it's at their wedding, and as much as I wanted to hate Maxim, the way he took care of her that first night was sweet and you could see she brought out a gentler side to him. Haleigh is not very sure of herself, or the deal she has been brought into, but throughout the first few days with Maxim she finds her backbone, and I loved watching her tell him how it was.

These two have some amazingly sweet and romantic moments, some down right sexy moments, and some that you just go WTH just happened?! Every time you think these two are going to finally have happiness and no more worries, something comes up and tears them apart again. I wanted to punch Maxim for how he treated Haleigh when she returned, as well as when he returned after being gone a year. For being so smart, at times I felt as if he was extremely dumb. He states he loves her with everything he has, but at times he treats her horribly.

As this book is told in dual point of view, you really get to see inside both of these characters minds and feel what they are feeling throughout this tangled and twisted story. I really enjoyed watching Haleigh grow so much into who she was at the end of this book. She's strong, fierce, and stands up for herself and her family. Maxim is a bad guy, but the way he loves Haleigh and his family is something fierce and at times I tended to look past how bad of a guy he really was.

Owned by the Badman is not for the faint of heart. It has some dark, dark moments in this book, but it also has some really sweet moments as well. Haleigh and Maxim's relationship isn't perfect, but it's perfect for them. This book is the first in the Russian Bratva series by Hayley Faiman, but it is a stand-alone. I do recommend this book if you're looking for a dark, twisty love story, dealing with the Russian mafia! I will definitely be picking up more books in this series as they are released to see how other characters stories play out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Raw, Gritty Mafia Read! 28 January 2016

5 stars

Haleigh shy, isolated, ignored by her parents, all she wants to do is get lost in dance. Raised as a ballerina to fulfill her mother's lost dream, Haleigh retreats into her performances to escape the abusive life that she knows.

Maxim a ruthless, deadly Russian mobster is obsessed by Haleigh. When Haleigh's father gets in trouble with Maxim, he realizes it is the perfect opportunity to get what he has been desiring.

I loved this book! It is a raw and gritty read. Hayley Faiman has written a cast of flawed but beautiful characters. Was it violent? Yes. Was it heartbreaking? Several times. Was it emotional? Undeniably so.

Haleigh is so pure. That is the best way to describe her. Physically and emotionally. She knows there is more to Maxim than meets the eye but she doesn't give up that optimistic outlook that the situation will eventually get better. She goes through so much abuse and despair but knows that life with Maxim is worth what she has to endure. Haleigh is a woman that gets stronger with every obstacle that knocks her down.

But as Haleigh gets stronger you see Maxim get softer. Don't get me wrong he is still ruthless but I think he finally starts seeing Haleigh as more than a delicate, sensitive ballerina girl. Like a lot of men, he thought he knew what was best for Haleigh without consulting her. And of course it was his past that eventually tried to destroy them.

One of the best parts of this book is you could never really tell who was a good guy or bad guy. Some of the most malicious Russian mobsters in this book I am dying to know more about! You could feel the evil from them but also know there is a great story there. I know this is just the beginning for Hayley Faiman's Russian Bratva series and I can't wait for the next book!

It had a fairly fresh story that I was looking forward to and that was true. It took me awhile to figure out what I did not like and that was the actual writing. Instead of being immersed in the story I was told the story. i could not place myself in the shoes of the character. It was a let down. Because I liked the fact it wasn't all roses and sunshine. It was gritty and real like when he left her and never said why and it was awkward when they saw each other next. It also skipped large amounts of time. 2 weeks later, 6 months later not feeling the angst.
5.0 out of 5 stars I want Maxim 10 July 2016

This was a fantastic book by Hayley focusing on the Russian Bratva, or mafia. Just as you would expect the men in these books are not always good men, almost anti-Heros, but they love their women fiercely and would do anything to protect them. Max is no different when it comes to Hailey. While it was an arranged marriage he comes to love her and she him. I love that this couple had to go through trials and works through issues. Just as in real life, love is hard work, but as this book proves, if you love someone and you fight for them, it will be a beautiful life.
