Outrageous Grace: A Story of Tragedy and Forgiveness Kindle Edition

I was spellbound reading Grace Fabian s story of her husband s murder and the redemption God wrought through this tragedy. One thing impresses me above all else. Grace and her family are anything but shallow Christians given to sensationalism. Instead, they are obviously firmly rooted in the soil of Scripture and recognize that God is sovereign over all things, including the temptations of our adversary. In the caldron of her suffering, Grace has come to know ever more fully that nothing can befall us without first passing through the filter of God s love. --Hank Hanegraaff, president of the Christian Research Institute and host of the Bible Answer Man Broadcast
Grace Fabian uses words and emotions like a vast array of vibrant colors and paints on the pages of her book the most vivid pictures of God at work in the midst of violent murder and unspeakable reconciliation. You will laugh, you will cry and you will praise God for His outrageous grace. --Russ Hersman, Senior Vice President, Wycliffe Bible Translators --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.

To say much more would spoil this true story. I recommend this book to all.
When we discovered Grace had continued the translation, we prayed for her and for Zumbek. Grace and her incredible courage were never far from my thoughts.
In 1998, we held a celebration for the completion of the New Testament in my home, at the same time the celebration was held in PNG. Her story was not complete, but my part in it would be.
Then in 2002, at age 50, hearing God's call, I returned to school, and three years later graduated and became an ordained pastor. After serving 6 years in a small church in Southwest Kansas, I now serve three small churches in Missouri.
Grace's courage to follow God's call in the face of her struggles was key in influencing me to become a pastor.
Her incredible story, minterwoven with Edmund's and the story of the translation of the Nabuk New Testament, from shoe box files to computers is a story of God's faithfulness and worthiness. It is a story worth hearing and worth sharing. Whether you followed the original story, as I did, or whether you are just being introduced to this story, your heart will be touched, and perhaps you, too, will have your life changed.
While I wait for Grace's sequel about how she is using and translating her foreign mission experiences to life back in the states, I will work on the reflective chapter questions with scripture references included in the back of Grace Fabien's "Story of Tragedy and Forgiveness".
