I loved the first book and wondered if this one would measure up. Of course it does!

Lily undergoes a bit of a transformation between when we saw her last and who she is now. She was absolutely a lot tougher than I will ever be, but she was no where near able to pull off the task she set out to do. She spends several months doing nothing but training and comes out the other side on a whole new level. I like how she still has her moments of doubt and the capability of showing heart despite her rougher exterior.

Kingsley is the person she seeks out for help. He has major combat skills. Before this point, I only knew him for the cool outward persona he gave. After getting to know him a little better, I see he has hidden layers including all the pain he's in. Lily is like a balm for his soul, in my opinion. I really hope to see more of him in a future book.

Marc has never gotten over Lily. He left her in hopes of protecting her from the lifestyle, and now he's taken up her fight as his own. His emotional growth path is just as deep as the changes Lily and Kingsley are going through. Marc has to accept things for what they are. He looses a little of his alpha broodiness while still retaining his warrior prowess.

There's a bit of building up and information giving in the beginning, but after the action really gets started, it doesn't stop. These three are on a mission and set to go at all times. I would truly love to see it all played out in film. I don't know how the author came of with some of the scenes. They will definitely keep the reader on the edge of their seat. Although everything is as explosive as any action movie I've seen, it's delivered in a believable, fact-checked kind of way. The characters are all total bad[...

I was literally blown away! This unputdownable read which blows hotter than hot, caused my emotions to run riot! Two leading men's roles; both exasperatingly intense and a heroine whose traits are more than peculiar. No, wrong word... spectacular. She's freakin' awesome and if I were a fella, I'd fall hard for this no nonsense, don't mess with me heroine with a capital H. Sleep deficit? I had it. Making sure any interrupts would not be tolerated while reading this nail-biting and fast-paced follow up of Best Laid Plans meant I could lap up one of the best action-packed books I've read this year. Metaphorically speaking, the pages flew. I couldn't wait to find out what the author had in store for three of the most outstanding characters I'd yet to meet this year. Even the most sceptical of us will believe in the leading lady's 'plans' in this knock your socks off story.

If I were able to be on a film set, this would be it! Scenes vividly described come alive. Whether the three protagonists are being shot at, tortured, hanging out of a car in smithereens, or hanging on to hope; any screenwriter would have their heyday with Marcelle De Sant, Liliana Brewster and Kingsley Law. They are most certainly not your normal trio. She wants payback, the two men in her life are mercenaries par-excellent who got caught up in her mission of vengeance. To begin with, she goes about it totally green but soon realises that to get to her target, she's going to need some expert training. I am not going to say too much as I don't want to spoil the story for you; however, I will give you a clue. When a ruthless Russian Bratva boss did the unheard of personally affecting Lily, she's prepared to go all the way regardless of her safety.

Action, action and more action. I loved the banter between the 3 lead characters. There is a lot of comedy in this book, more than I was expecting, but it was great. Yes at times it was a bit "James Bond", but hay it's fiction, right? This is one very talented author. This story has everything a reader craves and I recommend this book no matter what genre you normally read. You will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lily is determined to finish what she started and finds Kingsley to help her train to be the best mercenary money can buy 27 June 2017

More high stakes craziness with the killer trio! Lily is determined to finish what she started and finds Kingsley to help her train to be the best mercenary money can buy. Marc is kind of all over the place for a while until he realizes he has been a complete idiot. Needless to say, this was one exciting story that left me breathless and completely on edge! I loved the little respites of humor, they added a much needed levity to an intense story line.

As with the first book, the banter between the characters is a delight. And the sexual tension could be cut with a knife! The love/hate thing between Marc and Lily is just crazy! I love when two intense people go toe to toe. Some new character are introduced to add fuel to the fire and make the story that much more exciting. Just a great story! I was kind of sad when it ended, and that is something that rarely happens to me! I can't wait until Ms. Fantome writes a book about Kingsley! I just know there is so much more to this gentleman bandit and I can't wait to know him better!

Early October I’ve read a great book, Best Laid Plans by Stylo Fantôme. It’s not your conventional love story – boy and girl meet, love, some trouble, happily ever after – but an absolutely great read I adore. The story ends in a cliffhanger, and Out of Plans is the sequel I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. The story starts where book one left off, and it is another action-packed ride all through the end. Out of Plans is well worth the wait and I love it!

“Do you see any of this, De Sant? Wherever you are, have you heard about me yet? You’re a coward, you’re spineless, you’re weak willed, and I’m going to prove who is the stronger one, once and for all.”

It has been six months since Marc has left Lily in an African resort, leaving her a ‘Dear John’ letter, telling her to go home and get back to her live. Instead of doing what she’s been told, an understandably very angry and upset Lily does the complete opposite thing. She tracks down Kingsley and with his help Lily starts training to get better skills to accomplish her ultimate goal: the killing of her sisters murderer, Stankovski. Trying to get leads to find the whereabouts of Stankovski, Lily and Marc meet unexpectedly at a party of notorious drug lord Damiano. From here on out all the action unfolds, forcing Lily and Marc to work together again, despite the unsolved feelings they both have for each other.

“Lily had to do this, it simply wasn’t up for debate. And not just for her sister, and not just to prove something to Marc. She had to do it to get herself back. To prove it to herself that she was good enough to accomplish any go***mn thing she set her mind to.”

Although Lily is still angry with Marc for seeing her as a weak woman, and Marc still tells himself Lilly is too good for him and deserves a nice life, there’s a lot of chemistry between the two. When Marc finds out Lily has spent months with Kingsley he learns he can be a very jealous man, even though he’s claiming he can’t have her himself. Lily has changed over the course of the past six months, the constant training has changed her physical, making her an even more formidable fighter who can stand her own ground. She doesn’t need Marc for protection, but she does want him for love and companionship, despite from what happened. Between all the chaos, shooting, car chases and meeting up with bad guys Marc and Lily manage to find time to work on them, to see if they have a chance at a real relationship.

“He didn’t know this woman, this raven haired, cold hearted beauty. Hear words were filled with a venom that actually surprised him, and they stung. A bad memory? Almost getting killed for her were some of his best memories.”

As already told, Out of Plans starts where the previous book left off. I’m glad that despite her sadness about the loss of Marc, Lily is still a very badass though woman, very capable to handle equal bad guys. Kingsley gives her the supports she needs, and trains her to get herself ready for her revenge, killing Stankovski. Combine the two of them with Marc, and the help of a thankful drug lord you have a team of bad asses, ready to take on the world. I love that Marc, the ruthless mercenary he is, is jealous of the friendship and bond Lily and Kingsley share, and that he was ready to stand down and let them work as a team to get the job done. But most of all, I love the relationship Marc and Lily are building, to love and trust each other and be there for one another.

“I just … I kept thinking, what if this is it? What if tonight is our last night?” she whispered. He frowned and turned his head, burying his face in her hair. “It’s not,” he assured her. “You don’t know that.” “No. But I believe in you. I believe in us. We’ll get through this.” “Thank you, Marc.” “You’re very welcome, Lily.”

I love the conclusion to the story of Marc and Lily. And to be very honest, I really want to read more about Kingsley! I give this story 4.5 stars.
5.0 out of 5 stars Lily Brewster might be related to Jason Bourne and I need some more of Kingsley's Law! 17 December 2015

I could not wait for the follow up to Best Laid Plans - how was Lily going to handle what Marc did to her? Marc has ditched Lily with a crappy letter telling her to forget about him... like that's going to happen!? Lily channels all her anger into reinventing herself. She is resolved to continue with her mission to find the Russian mob boss Stankovski, who murdered her sister, and even the score. She also wants to kill Marc De Sant if she ever sees his face again. She recognizes that she needs some intense training and Kingsley is just the man for the job.

The entire book is action packed and filled with tense moments where our main characters get in some very sticky situations. The story is told from Lily and Marc's point of view. I loved Marc's view - he can't stop thinking about Lily and finds himself making costly mistakes that would never have happened before Lily came into his life. Marc is on the same mission, to destroy Stankovski so that Lily doesn't have to. He does not want the mercenary life for her. Well of course, two runaway trains bound for the same destination are going to collide sooner or later....

This series plays out like your favorite action/thriller movie. Make no mistake, this is no "chick flick". It's guns, knives, hand to hand combat, car chases, and running through the Colombian jungle with a fiesty, green-eyed redhead (Lily) and a dark, handsome, broody, blue-eyed mercenary (Marc). Even better, let's add to the mix a tall, distinguished Brit, Kingsley; who is ruthless, always dresses impeccably and has the best one-liners I've ever read! Kingsley Law is a character you will not soon forget. One other character deserves a shout out - Damiano Ledo - drug lord extraordinaire who strikes up a fortuitous truce with Lily and her boys.

Sure the plot of the book is absolutely off the charts crazy, but it works! Lily Brewster is Jason Bourne's long lost sister - I'm telling you! I enjoyed every second of this series. If the rumors are true and Stylo is planning a little Kingsley book series... well... count me in!
5.0 out of 5 stars Second book, just as awesome as the first! 5 stars 29 August 2016

This book picks up where the first left off for the 3 mercenaries: Lily, Marc, and Kingsley. Lily, after receiving devastating news, vows to become even better in her field while finishing her plan of 5 years in the making. Kingsley is a more present character and just as likeable as he was in the first book. Marc, while his choices were not ideal, did his best to be a man he had never been before. At times, I wondered how the three would escape their circumstances, but quick wit, fast thinking, and unassuming allies combine to provide another action packed page turner. This book is action from beginning to end. Don't miss out. Immerse yourself in the lives and stories of Lily, Marc, and Kingsley.
3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 26 December 2015

The tension between Marcel and Lilliana did not make it into this book, I'm sorry to say.

The characters seemed to have lost their edge as well. I wish I could better put my finger on it. For instance, during the fight scene in the tent, Lilly is beating on Marc quite impressively considering the size and strength difference. Marcel moves to defend himself, blocking her kicks and punches as best her can. After several moves Lilly came off as a bit psycho raging out of control. Marcele, tired of the fight slaps her across the face. Lilly responded with a taunt about stooping to hit a girl.

Lilly was angry that Marcel didn't think she was good enough yet pulls the girl card when she gets hit.
