Très beau - très beau. Absolument délicieux.
"Oui Oui, Gigi! (Nuggies Book 4)" is not only an enchanting story, it's very clever set up. The nuggies get lost in Paris; it's not their fault, the cab driver did not understand the nuggies' dad English spoken request. This is the first moment a young child would grasp that there are language barriers.
They escape the cab but don't know how to get back to the hotel; even worse, a dog catcher is trying to hunt them.
Luckily they find help, one of Paris' charming residents, kitty (?) Gigi. Gigi insists on that the nuggies Chomper and Coco learn some French, which gives children the opportunity to also learn a few basic words.
Can it be a surprise that Gigi hosts a party and serves cheese?
The next day Gigi wants to guide Chomper and Coco to the hotel; alas, the dog catcher follows them again. All three escape by boarding a Ferris wheel gondola. From the top of the Ferris Wheel they can see the whole city and Gigi shows them the most important buildings.
Of course, this sweet story has a great ending.
Loved it. It's a charming, beautifully illustrated book that introduces the concept of foreing languages, French words, and Paris.
Highly recommended! Particularly people who have traveled to Paris will love reading this story to their child.
