Product Description

Kobie's follow up short story, The Sin of Wrath - God's Army, will be released on Dec 24th. Pre Orders are available now!

Adalia and her sister Jamari Moore are teenage gamers obsessed with vanquishing demonic creatures in a Massively Multiplayer Online world called The Golden Age. They lead a closely knit guild of players in weekly dungeon raids and guild versus guild war games also known as war zones. Their brilliant combat tactics and ruthless fighting prowess has gained the attention of Divine Enterprises.

As summer break rapidly approaches Adalia and Jamari’s parents instruct them to find part time summer jobs so they don’t spend every waking moment immersed in an online world.

By chance the Moore sisters find themselves interviewing for internships with the same gaming company that owns and publishes The Golden Age. During their interview with the company’s CEO a demon suddenly appears causing Adalia and Jamari to expose a carefully guarded secret. Unfazed by the demon’s appearance the CEO makes Adalia and Jamari an offer that will change their lives and faith forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good versus Evil never gets old! 4 July 2014

There is a war between heaven and hell and the good guys are at a disadvantage. God’s warriors are hunting down demons in places where His light cannot shine entirely, but the demons, the Fallen - malign creatures thought to be extinct long ago - are becoming harder and harder to defeat.
Adalia and Jamari are the first of command of a guild of players from the online game The Golden Age. Adalia, the bigger sister, is careful, persistent and dedicated, whilst Jamari, the First Officer, is more impulsive and doesn’t always respect the chain of command. They represent a change of profile, since God’s Army doesn’t need “choir boys” any more, but experienced strategists such as MMORPG players. Are the sisters up to the task? Will they be able to overcome their differences?
The oldest war of them all, good versus evil, one of the founding myths of Western society, is taken to a whole new level. Virtual reality and concrete reality are entwined in this epic supernatural fantasy book.
I found the author’s style very lean and concise, which was unexpected, considering that this is a long book. The dialogues are central to the storytelling, as they’ll comprise most of the necessary information to engage the reader. I’ll be expecting new releases by Kobie Newton from now on. Great read!
5.0 out of 5 stars This book blew me away - I can't wait for Book 2! 29 August 2014

When I first started reading Kobie J Newton’s “Order of Saint Michael: God’s Army” I was confused. The book description talked about teenage gamers and MMO’s, but what I got was a nightclub, Demons and what I could only suspect were Angels trapped in a dead end alley! Despite the fact that the book seemed nothing like the teaser, the writing was very captivating and I found myself reading faster, seeking to discover that happens to Jenny, Stacey and Dr. Angela Celeste.

It isn’t long before things get really exciting and those MMO’s I read about crop up. Adalia and her younger sister Jamari, our heroines, are high ranking characters in the Massive Mutliplayer Online Role Playing Game, ‘The Golden Age.’ This game, owned by the company K4 Games, is actually a recruiting tool used by an Angelic Army, God’s Army – a tool for the modern age. Advancing with the times, the Commanders and Generals of the Army (who are losing, btw) are letting go of their staples in Choir recruits and aggressively angling to find new talent… in a new world. This world includes the Internet – a place the lost go to mope, yet where some Faithful can still be found.

For someone who plays MMO’s, this book is a minor dream come true. Well written and fast paced, Kobie J. Newton has crafted a tale that will entice countless. What if the games we play really are windows to our souls, recruiting tools to discover our talents, talents to be used in the ultimate battle of good vs. evil? It’s a heady, intoxicating thought, a thought the “Order of Saint Michael: God’s Army” plays well. I can’t wait for Book 2!
5.0 out of 5 stars This is what Fantasy was made for! 3 July 2014

This is what Fantasy was made for!

Although I have nothing to compare this piece to, considering that as I felt it was in a realm all on its own. I thought it was intriguing, vividly descriptive and in many ways thought provoking. Author Kobie Newton’s lavish scene descriptions painted a picture in my head that just left me in awe and placed me in the center of all the action. I'd say this is an outstanding work due to the demons and obsession theme of the book and how it just all comes back to the games. I thought that the Main Characters, Adalia and Jamari are presented with deep POV that only a seasoned author can portray with shear perfection.

From the very start of this book you will be hooked or an on all out thrill ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end. This is definitely an out-of-the-ordinary story that will captivate you and take you somewhere far away from your everyday life. This is what experiencing the fantasy is all about and can only vote 5 Stars for the “Order of Saint Michael” by Author Kobie Newton.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it 17 September 2013

It was well laid out and flowed well. An interesting twist in spiritual warfare with the origin of the demonic activity. (Not trying to spoil anything) While i found some descriptions and content a little much for young readers, it did not make me uncomfortable. I would suggest 16+ as the minimum age for concerned parents. It does describe situations that are more adult in nature and that kids at that age need to be cautious of. I am looking forward to future works by this author.
