Had it performed well I would have said excellent value for purpose. Fast enough for my mothers needs: checking emails and watching Youtube and Prime.
From the beginning it would shut down due to 'an error', quite frequently. Too frequently... Please wait while we restart etc etc and often needing a manual reboot after due to freezing. I installed System Mechanic Pro and noticed some improvement after a few scans, but then the little beast shut down and restarted in front of me when I was investigating tonight's issue.
When I first used the DVD player the front panel fell off. While I was able to attach it the first time, now it basically rests there, looking uncomfortable. Since the DVD player itself didn't work well either, I attached an external DVD when needed.
It also has the annoying habit of suddenly not being able to access the internet when all other computers in the household are not experiencing issues. I purchased a more expensive Wi-Fi adapter with no change. Needs a reboot and a fiddle with the network troubleshooter to fix. Happens enough to be a concern. And as mentioned earlier, annoying...
Being a pensioner, Mum was willing to put up with all of those issues in a trade off for cost... When it worked, which was mostly, it was a solid little performer with a great price tag.
But... since the weekend, the sound has been cutting out for no reason. Mum's computer is her main source of entertainment and without sound, its a brick.
Has lots of USB ports. Comes with Windows.
Patchy performance. I think it will struggle to make it to 6 month birthday.
With learning @home in place, my kid loves his new computer- its fast and super easy setup. It comes with wifi dongle- ready to go. Its a very good riddance of IPAD.
I already recommended this to my friend- he also bought and he is happy!
