Justine Davis lives on Puget Sound in Washington State, watching big ships and the occasional submarine go by, and sharing the neighborhood with assorted wildlife, including a pair of bald eagles, deer, a bear or two, and a tailless raccoon. In the few hours when she's not planning, plotting, or writing her next book, her favorite things are photography, knitting her way through a huge yarn stash, and driving her restored 1967 Corvette roadster―top down, of course.

I have enjoyed reading yet another book in this series of Cutters Code and once again I was so engrossed in reading it that I had to finish reading it before I could put it down. I can't wait to read the next book in this series so please don't make me wait to long. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has been reading this series. Or to anyone who likes a good story then they should get the very first book in this series.
I read all Cutter books and I was eagerly awaiting the next one. Cutter surpassed himself here, I‘d say, and I couldn’t possibly stop reading. But... there is a big but, I missed the others of the team. Where were Liam, Teague and Rafe? Yes, Teague made the tiniest of appearances, and we had Gavin and a short mention of Ty and an even shorter of Brett Dunbar, but I missed the others dearly. They need to come back, they just have to! Especially Rafe, who still hasn’t had his story. Apart from that I just give it a five stars, and I can’t wait for the next. Read this series from book one and you know why.
I think Ms Davis is an incredible author and I have read the Cutter series since it began...knowing with certainty that the next book would be at least as good as the last. I pre-ordered this one, as usual, and loved the beginning but it didn't take much time for that to change. Without spoilers, this book takes on a topic of mental health and that's a delicate subject. In this case, I was very disappointed in Ashley's story and how it was handled. Not because of the subject matter but because there were so many holes in it related to this topic and those only served to make Ashley seem unintelligent, when she clearly wasn't. I don't have it in me to bash this book so I won't.
I did make myself finish it so this rating is based on the totality of the book. It was great to see Cutter and his humans. I loved the brotherhood that the characters form in each Cutter book, in this case Brady with Quinn. Although Quinn an Hayley were secondary characters, their love story is front and center throughout the series and it'll make you smile. Brady was represented as a very ethical law enforcement officer and I could feel his conflict on heart vs oath. The not-so-great characters were easy to pick out from early on in the book so there was no great mystery. The romance was okay but Brady and Ashley weren't as connected as I would have hoped.
Bottom line, this probably isn't the place to start if you are new to Ms Davis or the Cutter series. I fear that it has jumped the shark now, but this author is still auto-buy for me. She's typically just that good and has the catalog to back that up.
