5.0 out of 5 stars Operation Firestorm review 23 February 2016

Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Just finished reading Carl A. Sparks new thriller “Operation Firestorm”. I expected this book to be a straightforward sequel to his best seller “Rescue Flight.” Although some of the basic characters and background appear from the first book; no introduction from the first book is needed. This book stands alone on a new level that makes the two books hard to compare. The best way to define “Operation Firestorm” is as an Intense and Explosive Military/Crime thriller. I thought “Rescue Flight” was a good book for young and old alike. “Operation Firestorm” may be too extreme for a younger reader.
The characters are strong – well developed. It is easy to feel comfortable and at ease with old friends. Mr. Sparks keeps his main character Matt in the forefront of the action even as the constantly rolling action unfolds in both North and South America.
“Operation Firestorm” exudes militia in the form of massive amounts of detail about equipment, military bases, and tactic’s. The author has an immense knowledge specifically of Navy operations, ships and aircraft. The terrorists have taken years to plan their strategies, Matt and his team are continuously trying to outsmart the bad guys - this is a game of catch-up if you can or you will not like the outcome.
Operation Firestorm will grip you and keep you reading.
Congratulations on a great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars "OPERATION FIRE STORM" is an absolute Must Read!! 27 July 2016

Once again, Carl Sparks has gone above and beyond what anyone could possibly imagine in his presentation of "Operation Fire Storm". He has so graphically demonstrated how a novel should be written. Even though he has published only one previous book (RESCUE FLIGHT), he is in a class with the best, most seasoned authors.

OPERATION FIRE STORM is so packed with family life, adventure, excitement and heart stopping moments that it should be great reading for everyone who may have an interest in adventure and excitement and still realize it is a novel. From cover to cover I was amazed at the way the story was told and how easy it was to follow even though some of the names and phrases were difficult to pronounce. I would recommend this book to anyone and am looking forward to the next book Carl is working on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep up the Good Work! 25 April 2016

This book was hard for me to get into at first because of all the acronyms and airplane/helicopter jargon. Once I got past some of that, I found it very hard to put down. Very scary of what/who may be out there and what could actually happen to us here at home. Lots to think about. Keep up the good work, Carl, but also keep in mind us laymen out here that do not understand all the technical stuff.

A good read. The author managed to balance a positive ending against "realism" and came up with a good mix.

My only suggestion would be to have someone proofread the manuscript for simple spelling and use-of-English errors. They weren't rampant like in some other books I've read, but occasionally I'd trip over an obvious "oops".

The book was clean and did not have any unnecessary sex or graphic violence, which was another positive aspect.

Carl Sparks has written his second book that is harder to put down than his first. His ability to tell a story with exacting detail and gripping suspense makes it difficult to wait for his next book .
Thank you Carl for the great book.
