This is cheap, so the fact that there are some mistakes can be forgiven. But the whole thing was not a fulfilling experience. It seemed the chapters were to quick to end compared to the slow tone, and it didn't have and ending.
Also, the behavior of the characters was not well described or matching expectations.
Overall 2 out of 5. I've read worse things, but I've also read better things for free.

A quickieReviewed in the United States on 11 January 2020
Basically a setup piece for the next novel. Think of it a Dennis’ back story. No real drama except for the parents. What’s with Jay and parents? A lot of familiar names from previous books made me a bit confused. I don’t believe they’re the same characters... 3.0 for ?
Too shortReviewed in the United States on 27 January 2018
I really enjoy short stories as a rule, but in this case I think the story had so much potential that it was a shame to relegate it to a short. That was the main thing I did not like about it. As the story line goes in general, it had great premise and it is a good read. I just wish there had been more.

The price was good for the length of the storyReviewed in the United States on 3 December 2017
I didn't care for the timeline of the story. It moved so fast. There are only 4 chapters and I would have loved to read more of the story between each chapter. Like Chapters 1A, 1B and 1C before beginning Chapter 2 and Chapters 2A, 2B and 2C before Chapter 3, etc. More depth to the story would have been great.

Captive storyReviewed in the United States on 6 August 2018
I can’t believe I read the entire Fairmont Boys series! The characters were believable and the touched many of the events of people I know. The writing style was easy to follow and the story was captive. Great read!
