Keith Brambles gets stranded in a snow storm after yet another disastrous blind date and accidentally parks his car in a tree. When a large, brooding man in a van picks Keith up and dusts him off, literally, he’s a little wary but not wanting to be stuck out in the freezing weather, he accepts the strangers offer for help.

It takes Keith about five minutes to figure out the big man with the beard and all the tattoos is no danger to him, in fact, the air around them is ripe with desire. And just maybe his savior will give him a nice, warm body… I mean bed, a nice warm bed to sleep in!

Short, sexy and so, so, so steamy! And for such a short story there was a lot of content and conversation between the men, before they let their body language take over. I loved the ambiance of the story, the stranger coming to the rescue and the getting to know each other. That instant connection and mutual attraction that was pretty much at the boiling point from the minute Keith got in the van.

If you are looking for a deliciously naughty little snack, this read is certain to curb your appetite. Or wet it, either way!

5.0 out of 5 stars especially by those who enjoyed the genre of music he sang 20 March 2015
By Terri Babcock - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
One Snowy Night written by Louise Lyons is a short story that was originally published in the Stranded Anthology by Wayward Ink Publishing. Up and coming British singer, Keith Brambles, fashioned himself after the American singer Adam Lambert. While he hadn’t made a name for himself worldwide yet, he was well known in the the UK; especially by those who enjoyed the genre of music he sang. Because of this notoriety, every first date he went on seemed to be a repeat of the last with guys who only wanted to be with him because of who he was.

Driving back home after a typical disastrous first date, Keith had got caught in a snowstorm which had lead to him being in an accident with his car wrapped around a tree. In the middle of nowhere and no heat or cell phone, Keith wasn’t sure if he was going to live or become a human Popsicle. That was until “White Van Man”, AKA Mike Talbot, arrived on the scene an hour and a half later. Keith’s rescuer offered him a ride back to his house to stay the night until the snow let up and Keith could call for assistance. With Mike not being into Keith’s brand of music but more the old school rock, it set the stage for more to happen than just your typical “Rescuer helping the stranded victim” scenario.

I have to fully admit that I loved this short story. There were moments during the time that I was reading that I found myself laughing at the situation. The way Mike had been referred to as “White Van Man”, in my honest opinion, was classic. Also, the fact that the two males were so different in not only their appearance but the taste in music set the stage for an amazing ying/yang love relationship to happen. The saying, opposites attract, really hit with this couple. Louise is an amazing author who definitely brings a story to life. I’m highly recommending One Snowy Night as a fun short story to read.
4.0 out of 5 stars Short, Sexy, with Great Characters 31 July 2015

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words.com (A Mika Review)

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Main character, Keith Brambles, is an up and coming British singer. He has had one disastrous first date after another, finding most men are only interested because of who he is. After yet another failed meeting, he sets off for home, driving too fast for the conditions. He loses control of his car in the snow and finds himself stranded – with no mobile phone signal and an outfit completely unsuitable for braving the freezing conditions.

Just as Keith has begun to think he’s destined to spend a night in his car, possibly suffering from hypothermia, a potential rescuer arrives, but Keith wonders whether he might have more to fear from the man, than the weather.

I enjoyed this sexy short novel. One Snowy Night by Louise Lyons is my first read by this author, and it makes me want to venture into more of her writing. I liked the characters. However, I wanted more of the story, and wish it was a full length novel. I was glad to see the author was different in her representation of Keith’s love interest. I think Keith expected Mike to be some bigoted biker guy, and was gladly shown otherwise. I liked the contrast between both guys, not just in looks but personality either. Mike was sweet, and very protective during the time that Keith was there. I liked Keith as well. I’d love to see these guys in a full length novel some times, or maybe another short.

Cover Art by ?: I did not understand the link between the story or cover. It did not match up to anything in the story at all. I think it’s nice, but very misleading.
3.0 out of 5 stars Another quickie for your lunch box! 25 April 2015
By Sinfully All Male Romance - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Keith Brambles has had enough of gig hook-ups and longs for something real. Unfortunately after yet another date with a man who was more interested in who Keith was as a musician instead of the person, Keith’s car goes out of control on the snowy roads and crashes. Thank goodness for airbags. When a Good Samaritan happens by to help him all Keith is worried about is that the white van man would prove to be a homophobe and make his problems worse. A quick conversation put paid to that idea.

"White Van Man – big bearded and apparently tattooed – didn’t seem to care that Keith was gay."

White Van Man proves to be a guy called Mike, who isn’t into the type of music that Keith plays, although he does know what Keith does. When Mike suggests to Keith that maybe the man might be better off trying to date someone that is not in the music scene, or a groupie, Keith thinks that could be a good idea. Mike takes Keith back to his house because of the storm and the men hit it off in more ways than one.

But unfortunately that is all the author was prepared to share about the story. I would have loved to hear about Mike and Keith’s first date, and any subsequent ones but the story itself only covers the span of a few hours. It’s a shame because the way Ms. Lyons set the book up, it would have been a brilliant longer book. Another quickie for your lunch box.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet & Sexy M/M Short Story 14 March 2015

Those wanting a little afternoon delight will find humor and sensuality in this short story of opposite's attracting. When rock star Keith needs rescuing from a snowstorm he doesn't expect the burly tattooed man to not only save him from his crashed car but from loneliness as well. Their few hours together show men at peace with who they are but wanting to find someone else to accept them too. Who knew that such divergent men would have such a profound connection but on a sexual and personal level they immediately clicked. Whereas Keith is glitzy and glamorous, Mike is cool and comfortable with a down-to-earth attitude. Their connection though is full of sweet and funny banter and though Keith is famous, Mike never treats him any different. These early stages of their romance put a smile on my face and the promise of more left me with dreams of my own regarding their future. I wished their story could've gone on and on as it wrapped me in a warm blanket of heartwarming and sweet moments that I thank Ms. Lyons for crafting!
