I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Being that this was the author's debut book, it wasn't too bad of a read. Personally, I struggled to connect to the characters. They seemed to be contradicting themselves in the way they behaved for most of the book.
Take for example, Sean seemed to come across as a strong, take charge kind of guy, but then he would come across as not very bright and subservient. And Jenn would come across as being fairly prim and proper and shy, but then she would be swearing and taking charge of the situation.
I found it really strange that they would be on the run from Sean's father but instead of hiding and going off the grid, they went to Vegas and didn't even use assumed names when checking in.
I also found it a bit odd that the solution to their problem seemed to come out of the blue and was such a simple fix, yet really, if it had been that simple, I am sure Sean should have been able to think of that a long time earlier, which could have prevented everything that had happened to Jenn.

I won this book by an unfamiliar writer to me. And with it came excitement of having something new to read. In addition by an unfamiliar author for an honest review.
The scenes built around the plot of the story were spectacular, the fantasy the a lost love would go to such lengths to recapture my heart, Yay that absolutely amazing. Each scene, each conversation gave me the encouragement to continue reading because I so wanted Jenn and Sean to have their second chance at romance and togetherness. The risk Sean take and courage Sean has for Jenn to keep her save and facing enemies like his Father. Oh wow ! ! I love how that energy played out . This journey of of Sean and Jenn kept the story moving beautifully.
Secondly, I love the chemistry between these two and as a reader with good chemistry like theirs I feel engaged into the story and I found myself revisiting some of their scenes.
My only regret is my delay in sharing my review of this book with fellow readers. For that I'm deeply sorrry. I have and extremely laborious job at a factory and it keeps me constantly tired. But still on the plus side I now looking forward to enjoying other reads by this author , Jean Kelso.

Sean and Jenn get a second chance to be together but they first have to get out of the trouble their father's have placed them in.
This book is an easy read and flows smoothly.

Both Sean and Jenn show their innocence and their inexperience with dealing with the situation they are thrust into. Starting with the kidnapping this innocence puts them in dangerous situations that could end their lives. Jenn is a problem solver and comes up with a plan to free them from both of their fathers. Sean is tired of them mental and physical abuse for his father and is willing to do anything to get away from him.

Together they try running from their problems while trying to get to know one another again. Jenn realizes that even though she's still hurt by him abandoning her years ago that she still loves him. Sean realizes the mistake he made in walking away.

Now they're both in danger of being killed for why each of them know. Will they make? Will Sean get out from his father's twisted thumb? Can their love survive the secrets left untold? You'll have to read this no find out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great debut novel 29 December 2015

This book is written in third person POV. I always have a hard time with third person and I don't know why. It's not a criticism to the author, just a peeve of mine. I feel more "in" a story when it's in first person.

Jenn & Sean get a second chance at love. It comes at the cost of being chased by Sean's family with a hit on Jenn.

I felt like neither of them took their safety seriously and acted as if they were just celebrating being on vacation. I wanted a bit more danger and I wanted more "alpha-y-ness" from Sean. Jenn took control of the situation after Sean kept vowing to protect her.

I do look forward to more works from this author <3

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and quick read. 30 January 2015

One Simple Memory is one of those books that I wanted to like and I always love seeing a couple get a second chance at love.

Jenn and Sean were the best of friends and when she's kidnapped, they are brought back together with the circumstances. I understand why Sean left in order to keep her safe, but little did he know she would put her in more danger.

As Sean and Jenn are brought closer by the demands of his father, he knows he wants to save her no matter the cost to him or his life. Like I said, I loved seeing them being brought back together so they can face their feelings they share for each other. I did become so frustrated with the fact that with the way Sean was raised and he knew his father was a dangerous man that he felt like they didn't need to hide and were just out in the world open and free. I felt like he made the wrong choice to try to keep her safe and that left me quite irritated with him. I did like this book and if you're looking for a quick read about second chances, give it a try.

4.0 out of 5 stars a great debut!! 2 September 2014

Firstly, I'd like to congratulate my friend for writing her first book!! I applaud any woman who follows through with her dreams, and I'll continue to read her books as she writes them! She can only grow from strength to strength from here on!
This was a great first effort. Her writing style is good, great natural flow of text, I don't think I found one editing issue. Great start to the story, I couldn't put it gown initially, it captured my attention straight away. Great final 20%, again I got to that stage of Cant put down until I finished. The part around the middle, I will admit my attention wondered a bit: I would have preferred more 'on the run' storyline, rather than 'playing in Vegas' storyline. But I did really enjoy the romance, and great sex scenes.

I chose this book because this author is attending a signing that I'm going to soon. This is the first book that I have read by this author. I enjoyed this book and the story. I just wish their story was a little more longer. I will read from this author again.
