E to a woman who was ahead of her time but also trapped by it. There is a lot of pathos to this tale and more than a hint of sadness but it honours this woman too.
Using many of her mother's journals to create a wonderful and visceral picture of a life journey.
Should a child of mine write such recognition of me, I would be immensely touched.
Congratulations Kate on another well crafted work, spiced with the love and pride in her mother's life.
Her biography reminds us of the many challenges women had to overcome if they wanted to excel in a realm outside their parenting role. It was an enjoyable read.
