About the Author
Serena Clarke grew up in a family of itchy-footed readers and dreamers-not concentrating, reading the atlas and Narnia books, and planning to run away somewhere magical as soon as she could. At 16, she packed her bags and went to live in faraway Sweden. It was the beginning of many travels and adventures...with a few mishaps along the way! Seventeen countries later, she's living her happily ever after near the beach in beautiful New Zealand, where she loves to hang out with her boys, escape into books and movies, and write romantic, escapist women's fiction. I don’t usually read romance so I’m not sure why I downloaded this book.Reviewed in the United States on 10 November 2018
I don’t usually read romance so I’m not sure why I downloaded this book. That said, thought I’d give it a few pages to see if it was any good, and I finished reading the dang thing in 3 days before I could stop myself! Lovely story, really well written (from a non-romance reader who may just have to start reading more romance! Ha).

ExcellentReviewed in the United States on 3 March 2017
I really enjoyed this book, and the characters. They were very believable, and the storyline was too. I am so in love with New Zealand, since reading all the books by Rosalind James, that I try to read as many authors as possible from there. If I were younger, and in better health, I would have visited En Zed a long time ago. I highly recommend this book.

EnjoyReviewed in the United States on 14 October 2020
String characters. Wonderful scenery drawn strong with strong description, as much of the plot as the characters themselves. A HEA you sometimes aren't sure is obtainable.
