What a find. Excellently paced book with a good development of characters and plot. Written with knowledge and not holding back on the realities of life on the sharp end of trying to keep society safe, however unpleasant. James Deegan is a writer to watch as there is a lot of promise. I pre-ordered his second book.
A well written thriller exploring the exploits of an ex-soldier, who was in the Para's and then the SAS of the British Army. Very good plot construction, with excellent use of flash-backs to times in the Para's and SAS. The pace continues throughout the whole book. The author uses his recall of his own armed forces experience to offer realism and credibility to a fast paced story. Overall, an excellent first book, competing and a match for Chris Ryan and Andy McNab.
