I'm a huge fan. I have followed the series faithfully and eagerly. This was a good enough addition but not a keeper shelf material. i think this may be the first time i skimmed parts of a Nalini Singh book because of purple prose. I got feels from the connection between MCs but compared to Silver and her bear?! They just didn't touch me as much. Some depth was missing. I didn't quite believe in their big awesome do or die cosmic connection.
I don't know what it was except that it left me feeling a little 'meh' when i finished the book.

It's a given that when readers open up a Singh book they will be transported to a unique world filled with genuinely unforgettable characters. That those stories are also complex, action-packed and romantic in the extreme is why Singh's novels never disappoint! Fabulous! - Romantic TimesI don't think there is a single paranormal series as well-planned, well-written, and downright fantabulous as Ms. Singh's Psy-Changeling series - All About RomanceParanormal romance at its best - Publishers Weekly
Book Description
New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh dives beneath the surface of her Psy-Changeling world into a story of passionate devotion and selfless love . . .
About the Author
Nalini Singh was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. She spent three years living and working in Japan, and travelling around Asia before returning to New Zealand now - although she's always plotting new trips. She has worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher, not necessarily in that order. Some people might call that inconsistency, but she calls it grist for the writer's mill. You can learn more by visiting www.nalinisingh.com or by following @NaliniSingh on twitter.

Yet another fantastic story! I really loved this one, it had such and element of mystery and newness with the Black sea storyline, so many new characters so many new animals and personalities! As much as I'm missing my leopard wolf packs it's fantastic to dig deeper into the wider storyline and see more. The story get a touch slow in the beginning middle, but it really progressed and built and turned in some very unexpected ways that I loved. And the initial relationship building time was beautiful, even if not so action packed. Overall another fantastic story!

I really loved reading this book and I sure am looking forward to reading the next book in this series and I have found this book to be filled with drama, danger, mystery, passion, intensity, adventure, hope, joy, challenges, hurt, fear, panic attacks, hot sexy changelings, caring, forgiveness, compassion, love, great storyline, sex, love, letting go, honour, revenge, duplicity, greed, loyalty, excitement, change, kindness, courage, protectiveness, family and friends, living life fully, warmth, magic, endurance and finally this was a wonderful book to read as well.

Another Fantastic story by the fabulous Nalini Singh. Once again she draws you in to the pages where you just have to keep reading to see what happens next. Loved the building of the romance between Bowan and Kaia and how other side characters are brought into the series. The glimpses of previous main characters keep you in touch with them, just enough to keep them alive and kicking in your mind. This book is well worth the read and just keeps on building the psy/Changling and human series.

Sorrow so deep you can’t find the bottom to push back up. Love so pure and warm you bask in its glow. Joy, laughter, tears and loss. But always endurance, strength and hope. Another wonderful chapter by this fabulous author

Nalini Singh has written a fantastic story, as usual. Bowen Knight is a great character and it was wonderful to see him matched up with him. The trinity series is terrific and this book fits right in. The storyline grabbed my attention and the characters were engaging and entertaining. Can't wait for more.

Nalini still manages to weave an intricate and lumniscent story even through the muting and distorting effects of the deep black of both the ocean and darker side of the psyche and emotions of grief, betrayal and horror.

“The last words you said to your sister were for her to use your brain.”
These words are said by Atalina Kahananui, a pregnant medic in danger of another miscarriage, member of the BlackSea clan - sea based changelings.
At the end of ‘Silver Silence’ Bowen Knight, leader of the Human Alliance is shor with a fragmented bullet, trying to save his sister Lily.
Having been terrorised by Psy previously, Bowen had a chip implanted to prevent psychic intrusion, but it is degrading, along with the chips every other one of his associates and family have had implanted.
They are all living under a death sentence.
Lily has agreed for Bowen to be kidnapped by the BlackSea clan so they can experiment on him, hopefully finding a solution to save their lives, and to help their own clan. As for Bowen, he’ll be lucky to last a month, before brain damage and loss of function takes over.
In the meantime, Bowen Knight is held in suspicion as Hugo, his friend, has recently disappeared, another in a long string if BlackSea disappearances. As Singh narrates, “humans had been responsible for all the terrible losses of Kaia’s life.” so to feel any inch of sympathy for him and the sacrifice he’s making for his people, mars against her. Given that this was mentioned and we encountered a disappearing sea changeling a few books before, I think this plot strand has been planned by Singh for a while.
Bowen Knight is part Scottish, part Brazilian just as Kaia is brown skinned. As soon as he scents her, he is addicted ...
“it was as if he were connected to her by an invisible cord.”
So, amidst Bowen’s fight for survival and an answer to the degradation of his chip, plus sea-changelings disappearances, we have a brewing relationship which may not last more tnantjree weeks.
The novel deals to an extent with disability and how to cope when it first occurs, plus numerous race issues. And - tentacles- yes!! Not tentacle porn, don’t get your hopes up! But, we do meet lots of sea-based changelings and Singh introduces them with humour and vigour.
The core of ‘Oceans Light’ is that the vast majority of the Alliance membership understood that humanity couldn’t thrive in isolation. It had to find a way to stand on equal ground with changelings and Psy,’ so here, bridges are being built, almost a reflection of the current political world.
This was really a great book; fun, emotional and clever, though I did guess early on who was responsible for betraying BlackSea, though I didn’t discover all of the plot strands.
A great second step in the new triptych series

A gentle romance

While there is a lot of emotion in this book combined with pain and suffering the characters within shine so brightly with such purity in their souls. The shifters who live in the oceans of the world face such a wide range of problems and dangers in their efforts to live free. Imagine they can be caught by fishermen, trapped in fishing nets. Killed by ocean predators etc. Despite all the dangers they still live such rich fulfilling lives devoted to their mates and family. Ms Singh has managed to bring these changling to life convincingly, no detail is missed and in Kaya she has a woman who has conquered such tragedy yet emerged still with a loving and open heart. If only she can conquer her very real fears to take the future that is waiting for her as Bowen Knights mate. Providing he survives the next three weeks that is.

Loved it

I must admit that I found the technology within this story to be beyond fascinating. It's a great ploy with not as much action as the other books in the series, but the suspense and the deep blue make it all so worth it. Not to forget the romance.
The Consortium is still intent on undermining the Alliance and uses some ruthless methods to tarnish and destroy their reputation.
I didn't think that we would see Bo again, but here we are and his story is full of wonders.
I really really like Bo. Despite the fact that he is in a dire situation, he is not shy to put his life at risk, knowing full well that the outcome looks bleak. He is enigmatic, brave, loyal to his cause and oh so very loving. He is willing to make sacrifices for those he holds dear. He doesn't jump to conclusions, but analyses everything to make his sensible and solid decisions.
Kaia is kind, honest, caring and full of fun even though deep down, she has a secret. This secret is a hindrance to her, but it doesn't stop her from living her life to the full.
Unfortunately, there is a traitor amongst the mist and the story is intricately woven to give us the answers we seek. The suspense and the "need to know" makes it a compulsive read. As a bonus, some of the beloved characters from the previous books grace us with short, but welcome visits.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The great content and the vivid descriptions transported me to the Blacksea world and to Venice.

An amazing continuation of this series. I don't know how Ms Singh makes each book so different and yet fit in with the whoke series so well, each new book becomes my favourite, and inspires me to re-read from the beginning again.
Kaia's bravery is incredible while Bo shows himself to be the rock that the other books hint he is.
A new chapter, but hints of familiar faces, but seen through new eyes.
I can't wait to see how Trinity continues to grow and bring each side together, whilst acknowledging that each side has good and flaws within them.

Wow! This series is amazing and for me this book was something else as it touched on some sensitive subjects that are close to home for me. The whole series is amazing and really should be read in order as it brings a whole other level to the experience to see how things evolve. I love the intensity and the ability to cover subjects that impact everyone, the continuing thread of love, relationships, knowing right from wrong, seeing how life evolves for the characters we have ‘met’ previously.
