*Strong sexual content and mature situations. Recommended for ages 18+*

The name is Diesel Beck and I’m a fucking rock god…or so I’m told. When I get the mic in my hand, women fall to my feet. The sound of my voice is enough to make them wet their panties. Women line up for a chance to fuck me—for a chance to claim me, but I can’t be tamed. My predilection to sex is depraved and I offer no apologies. I rock hard and fuck harder. I’ve never met a woman I couldn’t conquer …until her.

Lourdes Drake walks into my life like a fucking hurricane. She is the sister of my band mate Xander and she is going to be staying with us at the lake house this summer while we work on our music. Her darkness beckons me. I see through the image she desperately tries to project. She hates everything that I stand for, but she has no clue what I’m capable of. She is supposed to be off limits, but her rebellious nature makes my cock jump with excitement. Finally a challenge that I’m more than willing to accept. I will bend her to my will. I won’t stop until I have her complete submission. Consequences be damned.

Get in and get out. That’s the challenge. My dick accepts.

A good book to start of a new rocker series, left us with a bit of a cliff hanger and a WTF moment.

The characters were intriguing, I enjoyed Diesel but didn't find him to be as manwhoreish as made out.

Lourdes intrigues me and hopefully we get to meet abit more of her as the books progress.

The book was abit jumpy, we did seem to jump weeks at a time. I think the whole BDSM/breath play was rather random
And way outta left field.

Saying that I did actually enjoy the overall concept of the book and look forward to more

1.0 out of 5 stars Was The Wrong File Uploaded to Amazon? Do You Even Edit, Bro? 16 January 2016

When reading the synopsis for this story, I thought this was a book that could really check all of my boxes. Rocker? Check. Brother's best friend? Check. Throw in a little kink? Check, check, and CHECK.

Unfortunately, I felt that the story tried to be too many things at once, and ultimately, fell flat.

The story was underdeveloped, the characters immature and one-dimensional, and having one of the authors pretty much starring in the book as himself cheapened the entire thing.

Sadly, the above-mentioned flaws were not the worst in this book. Instead, the true downfall of this novel is the editing or lack thereof. Since there was an editor credited in the acknowledgments, I'm not sure if the authors simply ignored their advice, or if they need to be demanding a refund.

Either way, the amount of errors in this book is STAGGERING. My untrained eye caught PAGES of errors, including, but not limited to:

- Incorrect word usage
- Spelling & punctuation errors
- ENTIRE WORDS missing from sentences
- A character's name changing from one paragraph to the next!
- The commas....MY GOD, THE COMMAS. There may have been more commas in this copy than actual words. (Yes, I exaggerate, but not by much)

Eventually, the mistakes became so numerous that I began to suspect that a rough draft was accidentally uploaded to Amazon. This copy comes across as amateur in the extreme. Authors, if you like, I invite you to get in touch with me so that I can share examples of these errors with you.

This book is the first in a trilogy, and if I were asked for advice, I would recommend that you fire your editor & betas and start fresh for this next installment. They did you no favors on your first go round.

I understand that writing a book is no easy feat, and I don't like to demean anybody's work.but as consumers we need to demand better. Romance readers are maligned enough as it is, and when we give a standing ovation to a sub-standard work because our favorite hardbody is associated with it, we only serve to perpetuate the stereotype of readers in our genre. We're better than that.

1.0 out of 5 stars Was this book proofread at all?!? 15 December 2015

Yikes. First off, I cant even begin to give you an accurate description of all the spelling and grammar errors this book is riddled with. It's crazy. There's almost no abbreviation, which makes the characters sound ridiculous. And the author apparently doesn't know the difference between 'to' and 'too.' If she paid someone to proofread her book, she needs to ask for a refund. There were sentences with words flat out missing throughout the whole book. And the characters? Was I reading a high school romance? Because that's what it felt like. Lourdes acted like a whiny jealous teenager throughout the whole book. Deisel just acted like an ass. And the story itself was lackluster. I was bored reading it. I'll admit it got interesting during the last 5 pages but not enough to make me want to buy anything else from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hot & Sexy Read With A Little Mind**** Added In.... 10 December 2015

A raw sexy emotional heart pounding read!!! S.R. Watson & Shawn Dawson have left their readers bewitched and spellbound with their infuriating and raw characters. In the first installment to the S.I.N. Series (Sex In Numbers) the authors leave you with baited breath as they paint a literary tale that is full of raw emotions, lust, hot sex, second chances, forgiveness, and friendship...
Diesel is finally here!!! And let me just say S.R. Watson & Shawn Dawson delivered a story that had my complete and undivided attention. Literally from the time I started the book the Sex In Numbers band mates (Diesel,Xander,Keyser,Gable) had my attention. Add in the chemistry of Lourdes & Diesel and I didn't stand a chance of putting the book down. This book will take you through the twist and turns on the beginning of the journey to stardom for the band. The road to second chances for Lourdes to find herself and become comfortable in her own body again without shields or barriers to protect her. You will get a glimpse of the demons that lay below the surface for the characters in this book and left needing & wanting more. You will also learn a little about Lourdes best friend Brooke and how they meet along with became friends. You will hear the name Sevyn several times through out the book but they leave you in the dark and pretty clueless about the mystery man.(nervous & biting nails over him)
Sex In Numbers douses you with hot,raw emotions that will hold you hostage. While I loved the beginning to this series the cliffhanger(yes I said cliffhanger and one hell of one) will leave you stunned and sitting on the edge of your seat. In closing of this book we will finally figure out just what & who Sevyn is and how he fits into this story along with a glimpse to speculate what the future holds for this band and the new relationship of Lourdes & Diesel.
So for me this was a match made in heaven for the two authors to collaborate together... And a spectacular debut novel for Shawn Dawson. I personally can't wait to see what else these two have up their sleeves for the next two books in the S.I.N. Series!!! Hands down one of my favorite reads of the year and a definite must read... I will be recommending this book to all....

4.0 out of 5 stars Piqued my interest! What an ending!!! 9 December 2015

This had something going for it that I just couldn’t put my finger on and to be honest I still can’t, so I am going to stop trying.
Here’s what I thought.
I liked the whole band dynamic but what was more important was the character interaction and the relationship between Diesel and Lourdes.
Diesel was the definition of what you would expect when reading about the enigmatic front man of an up and coming rock band – he was living life to the max in every respect with women prepared to fall at his feet at every opportunity, no matter how slim but for this man it had to be the right woman, it was quality over quantity and when Lourdes ( Xander’s Stepsister) comes to spend some time with them, he is loathed to obey the old adage that she is off limits simply because of the fact that he and Xander are friends or at least they are bandmates.
Boundaries are his to set and he makes no bones about that being the case, he is a dominant man in every aspect of his life but finding a woman to allow him to exercise that side of his personality was a task that with regards to a full time applicant was far from a done deal.
But the second he lays his eyes on Lourdes, his mind is focused and she is his, he just has to make it happen. Can he?
Will she let go of the shame that she carries so wearily with her and learn that her past should have no bearing on her future?
And will the secrets that Diesel hides so deeply ever be able to be overcome when and if the eventually rear their ugly head – can they ride the storm of what is to come… and if they can will they be able to do it together?
The band is an eclectic mix, and I have to say that they have left me intrigued, I want to hear the stories that they have to tell and the secrets that will shape their lives.
I liked the fact that the path that the story took was one that was uncertain. Their connection was far from easy and that was not always down to circumstance, they made things harder than they needed to be in many cases.
The author delivered a book that was not only fully loaded from start to finish but she packed a punch with the cliff hanger ending that was set to detonate immediately … my only question was who would survive.
Believe me it was not at all what I had expected … it was huge!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A sexy read but needs a bit more chemistry... 8 December 2015

3.5 Stars!!!

***I received a copy of this book from the authors in exchange for an honest review***

This is a story about a rockstar who likes to have sex, and just his voice alone causes women to drop their panties for him. Sounds a bit familiar, right?

Diesel is the lead singer of Sex In Numbers, an up and coming rock band. All he wants to do is sing and have sex with his groupies. He has a depraved mind and a predilection for some really intense, BDSM based fantasies. A man who likes control, he has yet to find the right woman to unleash his secret sexual desires on. Enter Lourdes. At first he just sees her as a challenge, someone who tried to hide her attraction to him, and what guy doesn't like a challenge? The more time he spends with her though, the more she starts to get under his skin.

Lourdes is the sister of Diesel's band mate, Xander. Before starting classes at a new school, she spends the summer with her brother and the rest of the band at their lake house. While there, she discovers an attraction to the seriously sinful Diesel. Though she hides behind baggy clothes and lots of makeup, something she does to push guys away, Diesel takes a deeper look and sees what she tries to hide. At least part of it. He can see that she is keeping people at a distance and determines to help pull her out of her shell. Lourdes has some painful secrets that she isn't ready to share with anybody, but the summer with her brother proves to be a stepping stone in the right direction. A way to begin healing.

This book has some of your typical rockstar scenes and storylines...groupies galore who are all about having sex with the band. Rockers who will have sex with whatever hot girl is around, not caring in the least who sees or if others participate. Commitment-phobe men who are just enjoying the lifestyle even before they have made it big.

Getting into the meat of the story, I wasn't really sure how I felt about the lead characters. Diesel started out very typical and one-sided, but did develop a little over the course of the story. Lourdes went through the greatest transformation. She started out a bit shy and quiet, content to be in her own world, but became more vocal and outgoing by the end.

I'm not sure that I really connected to the characters that much. There was a lot of back and forth drama that drove me a bit crazy. I get that it was added to make for a more interesting story line, but it seemed a bit unnecessary. There was one scene in particular that really made me dislike Diesel. It's a scene I have seen before, and it almost made me quit reading the book.

Setting that aside, I am still willing to take a chance on these two. I know that this is an ARC copy and there will be mistakes, but this book needs a lot of editing. I can overlook some errors without it detracting from my rating, but this book had numerous ones, including mixing up a character's name. Aside from the editing, I feel like this book needed more character depth. While there were traumatic issues that were brought up, this book never really hooked my emotions. The other thing I have to note that I really disliked was the way that Lourdes was written. She seemed to come across as more of a dude than a vulnerable female who was trying to overcome her past. Sure, there might be women who say "bust a nut" and throw the word pussy around like it's candy, but based on her description she wasn't what I envisioned. It felt like the authors had a bit of a problem switching POV's from male to female. There was also the use of the same words repeatedly-one being thirsty.

I was a bit on the fence about this book-it was certainly sexy and hot, but I need more in a story. I need a storyline that will engage my curiosity, give me something new, and make me root for the characters. I didn't always feel the chemistry between these two, and I wanted to see more non-sexual interactions. While a lot of this story was a bit one-dimensional for me, I have to say that this book pleasantly surprised me at the end. Any book that can completely throw me for a loop and leave me wondering wtf just happened is a book that will keep me coming back for more.

As this is a trilogy, I expect that some of the issues I had with the book will be ironed out in the next 2 stories. I think that this series has the potential to be great depending on where the authors take things in the next book. I am eager to see how Diesel and Lourdes will come back from that cliffhanger.
