Product Description

Pepper Ryan grew up the troublesome, spoiled child of a rock god. With her less-than-stellar parentage, and the bipolar disorder that has plagued her existence, to say this little firecracker is a handful would be the understatement of the century.

Sammy Belle spent more than half his life saving Pepper. He’d been her strength, her sanity, and the protective brotherly figure she never wanted to have.

They were never meant to be together.

They gave in anyway.

And just when Sammy thought he had everything he wanted, Pepper ran.

Now twenty-three, Pepper returns to Sugartown, a failed tattoo artist with one too many screws loose who’s down on her luck, wielding an ice cream van as beaten up as her heart.

Sugartown’s most coveted bachelor has always been content with the quiet life he leads until Pepper, the hellion from his past, returns to test his strength, his patience, and perhaps even his sanity. But two can play at that game, and Pepper is about to learn that Sam can give as good as he gets.

Can this good country boy survive Pepper’s cruel city world, or will the whole thing be put down to a bout of temporary insanity?

One thing is for certain:

He’s crazy about her.

She’s just crazy.

Warning: Intended for an 18+ audience. Contains sexual content, oodles of profanity, a firefighter so hot you may need a very cold shower, and one pink-haired crazy Harajuku girl. May also contain traces of nuts. Some scenes within this book may be a trigger for certain readers.

Oh. My. God. Sam Belle grew the hell up!
I loved reading his and Peppers love story. It very intense, tragic and heartwarming and everything I expected it to be. It was beautiful to see how their close bond turn love helped Pepper through some very tough times and my heart just broke for her and Sammy constantly. Sam is such a beautiful character, the way he was always there for Pepper throughout her life and how he never left her side. This is the first book in the Sugartown series that made me cry! I just connected to them so much, of course at same stage they both annoyed the crap out of me, I could't stop rooting for them till' the end!

"I can't promise I'm not going to make you crazy"
"Then we'll be crazy together. Welcome home, Little."

That scene right there ^ the last chapter, I was laughing my ass off to then crying my eye out just from those two sentences. Just the journey they both had to go through for those words to be spoke took my breath away...

Finding the right words to do this book justice was a very hard task. It took us ages to even begin this review. Our eyes are burning with the pain from all the tears we cried reading this masterpiece by Carmen. Five stars doesn’t even come close to rating this book how high we want to. Much like the previous books in the Sugartown series this book is filled with our favorite characters that we are going to miss so much.

Pepper Ryan and Sammy Belle have always been there for eachother. Since the day she was born, Sammy, much older than her, became her protector. Growing up their bond became stronger, and soon their feelings became more than just friendship. Most saying their bond was more one of a brother and sister than just friends. Their almost taboo love for eachother causes some moral strains. But when Pepper feels she is old enough and acts on these feelings she has for Sam, it doesn’t go the way she plans. Rejection hurts, and rebelling against everything is the way she feels is best to cope with this.

Over time, and as they get older, their feelings are still simmering under the surface, both trying to fight it is a lost cause, and after finally showing their true feelings, Pepper runs, leaving Sammy a mess, and for the next 5 years, he lives his life, not really living, just getting by, so when Pepper comes barrelling back into town, she’s about to turn things around in more ways than Sam expected.

“I close my eyes. I cant look at her right now. If i do I’ll give in again, and she will see how weak I am. She’ll see that despite all the time that’s passed, she still owns me. And I can’t let her know that, because even though I’ve told myself these last few years that I don’t, a part of me still loves her. And I can’t watch her run again.

Wow this book might have been a little slow on the uptake but I was still enthralled from the start and by about 50% I wasn't sure if it was ever going to happen but holy pop tarts it hits you with a punch I couldn't think of a more perfect ending to this book. Reading about all the brooding alpha males in Peppers life was just funny plain and simple and well Jake I'm sure is from another universe and poor Sammy is sometimes just a deer in headlights to all this action from family and Jake. Pepper is just flat out bat sh*t crazy at times but it made for a good laugh. I'm glad that they got their acts together in the end. Beautiful and well written thank Carmen Jenner for putting yourself out there and sharing your stories.

I think Pepper and Sam are my fave characters from Carmen Jenner to date- which is saying a lot because I freaking Loved Kick and Jack and... all the others too. But these too kids... damn.
Pepper is a kick arise chick, amazing and so strong even though she doesn't see it passed her inner demons. And I adore Carmen for tackling this issue with such honest understanding and didn't gloss it over.
And Sam, the guy who loves her in spite of it all and is the king of good guys, who would save everyone if he could.
These two hurt my heart and mended it repeatedly, had me laughing, crying and everything in between
