4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Continuation of the Series But a Rather Short Installment 24 September 2014
By Michael Gallagher - Published on Amazon.com

Before you read this book, please note this is the second book in a series and if you start with this one you will probably be confused as to the characters and the storyline. You need to start with Novum, which was pretty good.

Without having a spoiler, Book 2 in the series picks right up where book one did and the author does a good job of making you feel as if you are part of the story; at times, you will feel like you are right there in the Rogue Wave as the story progresses. I was a little disappointed, however, at the shortness of this installment - similar to the first book in the series, it didn't take that long to read and is more similar to several chapters of a much longer book. I'll continue reading the series if there is a book 3, but at a year or so between book one and book two, I hope the next installment is (a) a lot longer, and (b) coming out on a faster publication schedule.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant sequel to Novum 21 July 2015

II thoroughly enjoyed this well plotted adventure story set in the future in a colony under water. Novum: Exile picks up three months after the previous book with the crew of Rogue Wave going from town to town picking up and delivering cargo and doing odd jobs. The crew take on a job at New Braska to take a faulty reactor and off-load it at the Rift. Before they leave they are shot at by enforcers and have to leave in a hasty way. Shortly thereafter they find a stow-away on board. Without giving anything away as this is a short novella, the Rogue Wave crew learn new secrets that have been kept from the colony, including things they didn't know about the Betas. Jake Stone is really starting to grow as the captain of Rogue Wave and is making quick decisions for the benefit and safety of the crew; the crew itself is becoming a closer and tighter unit. All in all, Rhea has written a great book that has mystery, adventure, great characters and a brilliant premise that keeps the reader wanting to find out more about the world his characters move in. This book has definitely drawn me in and I couldn't put Novum: Exile down until I had finished. Highly recommend this book and am looking forward to book three which should be coming out in Autumn (Fall) of 2015.

Good book, fast paced that leaves you wanting more. I really wanted to see where this was headed and then it was over. Looking forward to the next book due out in 2015, hopefully I'm not too far into another set of books.

I was very reluctant to start this book as I am a devout outer space fan. I am sure glad I did as it was very spellbinding. I am looking forward to the book.

Too short! I guess when you leave them wanting more you've done some things right. That is certainly the case with this book for me. I'm going to get the next book now.
