I really liked it!!Reviewed in the United States on 16 June 2010
I really liked this book. The struggles that Holly faces feel real. It's like taking a walk in her shoes. You want to comfort her when she hurts and cheer for her when she's happy.
Insightful and well writtenReviewed in the United States on 4 December 2009
I read this book from a different perspective from most readers as the author's mom is my closest childhood friend. I feel Lauren really captured the true essence of her mother in this very sensitive novel . She writes movingly of so many subjects that we all deal with at some time in our life...great loss, fragile friendships, the inability to be in touch with our innermost feelings, the conflicts of love and lust and the steps we take to maneuver through life as unscathed as possible. The book is very well written for young and old. The author writes in a manner that makes you really feel for the characters and pulls you into the pages right from the beginning. It also leaves the reader feeling hopeful for Holly ( the main character) and hopeful that there will be other books written from this excellent writer. Thanks!

A Proud FatherReviewed in the United States on 27 October 2009
I'm not a literary critic, but this book kept me not only wanting to keep turning the pages, but it read with ease. The characters were great and the story so believable. When I finished the book I called the author and asked her to write the sequel.
